Any slings suitable for tiny babies? Suggestions please if such things exist

Have one for when LO arrives but stupidest didn’t realise it’s from 8lbs and considering both me and my partners parents all had 5lb babies and the fact baby’s been measuring small I’m preparing for baby to be on the smaller side and it really would be handy to be able to hands free carry in the early weeks.

Ideally comfy and good back support as my back is awful without carrying a baby around! Although I suppose I already am Grin

Ergobaby Embrace! We have purchased this from John Lewis

I just used a stretchy wrap for mine as newborns. Had dd3 in it constantly from about 3/4 days old

Just double check because I'm sure this one is from 3.2kgs which is around 7lbs I think!

OP I would look for a sling library near you to ask for some advice and try some different options!

Hello, sling consultant here! What have you got already? I'd suggest contacting your local sling library as most slings can be used at lower weights with a few adjustments and support. For example, stretchy wrap would be fine, as would a close caboo, ergobaby embrace, and mamaruga zensling.
Notable exceptions are those marketed as "birth to toddler" like the main ergobaby range which are great from around 8-10 weeks onwards.

My son was 6lb 10 and I used a stretchy wrap from birth, visiting a sling library if you have one near by is a good idea as you try different ones.
