Flu symptoms after flu vaccine while pregnant?

Wondering if it’s a coincidence but me and ds had our flu vaccines last week for the first time (nasal spray for ds). Within a few hours ds had a bad cough and very loose stools) throughout the night, he could barely sleep. His cough is still there but thankfully he seems much better.

Im 17 weeks pregnant and also developed a headache and chills soon after, with diarrhoea the following morning. The diarrhoea was only one instance but I’ve been feeling awful since almost a week now on. I still keep getting fevers, chills, what I presume is a sinus infection, blocked nose, painful throat, very chesty cough, blocked ears, loss of appetite and bad headache. It’s keeping me awake most nights. The sinus pain and cough seem to be getting worse, my face and ears are throbbing all day long.

Done Covid tests which were negative. Me and Ds go to playgroups most days so could have been caught there but we very rarely catch colds.

Has anyone else felt ill like this after the flu jab? Any remedies for the sinus pain in particular would be most appreciated. Been steaming and using Neti pot daily but nothing seems to help :(

Flu jab gave me a headache the next day, thats it. 3 days later I caught the bug doing the rounds which sucks. This time of year there are loads of non-flu, non-covid things going around which are nasty. Especially as University is starting again so everyone moves around from everywhere and passes their local ailments on, passes to eachother, staff, their kids, local area.

@FlyingHighFlyingLow yeah it’s probably just coincidence! Hope it goes soon, doesn’t help I still have morning sickness so feeling rotten. Wouldn’t be as bad if I could sleep at night 😩xx

Flu jab always gives me what feels like flu for about 24 hours after having it x

Funnily enough I was Googling for ‘flu vaccine 2023 side effects’ and found this. I had mine 3 days ago and normally I get to symptoms at all, this year though I feel light headed, sinus-y and have a really painful throat which nothing touches

online seems to suggest it doesn’t usually cause these symptoms but it seems a bit coincidence to me if it doesn’t!

@Broadfield78 I found it a coincidence aswell. I rarely catch colds and never had Covid despite being unvaccinated for it. I’ve never had a cold like this in a long time and nothing seems to be helping. Hopefully we are feeling better again soon! Xx

Flu vaccine is "dead virus,it cannot give you flu. Your immune system kicking in,can make you feel off colour, same as the Covid Vax, it takes a few weeks to give you immunity, during which time you could contract it.
