Antenatal appointments at home?

Hi all,

I just had a call from the midwifery team advising that they can offer me all my future appointments via home visits instead of me having to attend my usual centre.

They said this is due to my ethnic background and wanting to provide extra monitoring due to being higher risk of high blood pressure and diabetes (measuring normally at all appts so far and my BMI is normal).

However, they aren't 'extra' appointments as such, they just replace the usual ones that I already have scheduled.

I didn't quite under whether this was to help those who struggle to attend appts themselves but I was reassured this was normal. Has anybody else been offered this?

I had home visits in my first pregnancy due to being on a caseload care team (I was planning a home birth). The cc team at my trust works this way - all visits are at home unless it's one where you need to give blood. It was during Covid and I was wfh so it was quite convenient!

Could it be that you've been moved to a specialist cc team and this is just how they work?
