IVF, 6weeks pregnant symptoms

Hey everyone 👋
Sorry for the long message.
We’ve had our 2nd round of ivf, which has been a frozen cycle (as we did double stim), and thankfully we have had a positive result and now almost 6 weeks pregnant :) :)
It feels like it’s been a rollercoaster journey to get here, with 2 miscarriages a couple of years ago.
I’m currently on 4 progesterone pessaries (2 morning, 2 night), 1 progesterone injection, 3 oestrogen tablets (Progynova) and one oestrogen patch a day…
I’m feeling sooooooo tired, like I just want to sleep all day, and mostly I have discomfort in my tummy which is difficult to describe as it’s not ‘pain’ as such, more like tension/tightening/cramping and also feeling very sick. The discomfort comes and goes, but I notice it mostly when sitting upright for too long (I guess it’s putting some pressure on that area). My nurse tells me this is all normal, particularly with the hormones I’m taking. And I have my first scan booked next week. But some of these feelings in my tummy are unfortunately reminding me of the miscarriages and I’m feeling very confused and panicked. I wish I had a magic lens to see if everything was ok!! Just wondering if anyone else has experienced stomach discomfort and symptoms like this before? Thank you xxx

Congratulations 🎉 all the symptoms sound completely normal and what I've experienced in pregnancy. It's really difficult not to worry in the first trimester particularly but just keep thinking that you've got no reason to think you're not pregnant right now. Lots of luck for your scan ☺️

Thanks for the advice @Greenvelvetdress 😊🥰

@Colourfulflowers congratulations . I'm pregnant after a frozen embryo transfer and I'm coming up to 6 weeks. I have pretty much the same symptoms and I 2nd guess everything because I've had a miscarraige before Flowers

These were the same as my symptoms - I also had IVF. I was scared that I was having a miscarriage when I had cramping pains, but everything was ok. I hope everything goes ok for you 💐

Thank you @justhereforthecraic and congratulations to you 😊 all of these feelings are confusing (especially when you’re feeling quite tired). Sometimes it feels like you’re the only person going through it so thank you for sharing you are too. Wishing you all the best 🌼

hi, yes I had the same symptoms with my successful ivf pregnancy (although also with an unsuccessful one) and I think 99% of symptoms up to about 9 weeks were just from the pills and injections. After 9 weeks my true morning sickness etc kicked in.

Thanks for sharing @ES1986 and glad to hear everything was ok for you 😊

I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant with my FET/IVF pregnancy. I felt absolutely knackered, which I think was a mixture of first trimester tiredness and the hormones for the FET as well. I felt uncomfortable in my abdomen for quite a few weeks as well, period pain type cramping mainly. I would say what you are feeling absolutely can all be normal pregnancy symptoms. Hope all goes well at your scan next week. X

Thanks very much @Leo227 The clinic have said the symptoms are most likely heightened by the medication. Good to know that is your experience too. Glad to hear you had a successful pregnancy 😊

Thanks so much @cat234 it’s so reassuring to read others have similar experiences. Although the clinic have said that it’s fairly common, it’s not something that anyone has ever voiced to me before! Congratulations to you and wishing you all the best 😊
