Ivf early pregnancy symptoms

Hi all, first time posting! I’m 4 weeks pregnant with my second conceived via ivf. My first was conceived naturally.
im having symptoms more in the evening. I don’t remember with my first & it’s making me feel a little worried. I feel nothing in the mornings, has anyone else felt like this? In the evenings I get slightly sore boobs & very mild tummy twinges. I know it’s early days but I’m worried of a chemical miscarriage.
my pregnancy tests are still very dark, darker than the control line, would it get lighter if it were a chemical?
move got my scan on Friday so will find out if everything is ok then.
I guess I just need some reassurance that my symptoms are normal? Xx

Every pregnancy is different, but with my IVF pregnancy the nausea started week 6 or 7, and continued to about week 12 or 13. It was definitely worse in the evenings. Mornings were actually the better time for me.

I also had cramps and sore boobs, particularly sore nipples and had to put tissue and cotton pads in my bra to try to cushion them a bit more 😩

Just wait for your scan. There’s no way of knowing what’s happening in there unfortunately. Wishing you all the best though 🤞🏻

Hi @ES1986 thank you so much for your reply. Your message has made me feel reassured about my symptoms. Such a tough time waiting in-between scans.
yes I remember the sore boobs 🙈 not looking forward to that getting worse🤞although, I’ve read that with the second your boobs shouldn’t be as bad…we shall see!
thanks again xx

My first symptom was really painful trapped wind in the middle of the night. I was convinced I was miscarrying but I'm now almost 12 weeks, the painful wind has stopped some time ago but been replaced with severe pregnancy sickness. It's not much fun this pregnancy lark but hopefully will all be worth it in the end!

Hope all goes well with your scan

figgyandpig · 27/09/2023 08:59

Congratulations on your pregnancy 💕 it is a long road but like you said be worth it in the end.
move not had any trapped wind but definitely lots of gas 🙈

I’ve woken up again this morning and feel no symptoms at all, it makes me feel anxious but then by the evening the symptoms come back. It’s very strange.

My second full term pregnancy was twins and I had zero symptoms - literally nothing. I spent a lot of time Googling "IVF success and no symptoms" 😂 honestly there is no way of saying which way this could go but I remember all too well the stress and anxiety you are going through x

I'm currently 26 weeks with an IVF pregnancy and I had no symptoms for the first few weeks at all. Think I had some slight implantation cramping and that was it, right up until our scan at 7 weeks! And after that very little nausea, mainly tiredness and occasional sore boobs. But most of the time I didn't feel any different. Just wanted to give you some reassurance that a lack of symptoms doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong 😊 hope everything goes well with your pregnancy!

Thank you, it’s definitely making me feel better knowing I’m not the only one feeling like this! It’s so hard not worrying but I can’t control it so have to just trust it’ll all be fine. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, not long now for you xx

Wow I feel like all I do is google stuff! Mostly things like, “will I know if I’ve had a chemical miscarriage” that’s something that’s on my mind a lot. But again I can’t control it, I just have to go with it and trust it’ll all be fine. It’s hard to stay positive when you have hardly any symptoms 😬🫠
thank you for sharing this with me, it really helps knowing I’m not the only one xx

I have terrible nausea in the evenings, in the mornings I’m mostly ok. It didn’t really start properly until about 5 or 6 weeks though. I also get sore boobs in the evenings, which I’m putting down to being more tired or my boobs having been in a bra all day.

figgyandpig · 28/09/2023 07:42

Ahhh I hope the nausea wears off soon for you, that’s not nice. I’m still only 4 weeks so I may start to get more symptoms. Isn’t it so strange, I want to feel more symptoms! I’m sure when I do I’ll wish them to be gone.🙈😂

Update:

Sadly at our 6 week scan we found out that our pregnancy had ended at 5 weeks. Turns out the lack of symptoms I was noticing was the pregnancy coming to an end.
Feeling positive that my body accepted our embryo and we have 2 more embryos frozen to transfer. Just need to get through this miscarriage naturally, I’m doing lots of walking. Thank you everyone for supporting me when I needed it. ❤️❤️❤️

I really feel for you @figgyandpig. Fingers crossed for one of the other two embryos - as you’ve said your body did the first bit, so there is hope.

You and your partner take care of each other 🫂💐

Bims2019 · 01/10/2023 19:02

So sorry @figgyandpig, take care and will keep everything crossed for your other two embryos ♥️
