Has anybody travelled abroad at 26 weeks pregnant? If so, would you recommend it or not? It would be a 4 hour flight. X

I went to the canary islands for two weeks at 28 weeks pregnant. Had a lovely time and was great to get away. I had a low risk pregnancy but I did end up having three days of very limited movement so got a scan done whilst there to put my mind at ease. So I’d just recommend making sure there are decent medical resources around if needed.
it was such a great chance to relax and enjoy couple time before baby arrived.

I just did a 9 hour flight at 25 weeks pregnant and will be 28 weeks on the way back! I had an extra checkup before I left make sure everything was looking good and my doctor was totally fine with me going.

Drink lots of water and wear compression stockings!

I went to Dubai from London at 27 weeks, flew back at 28 weeks. Felt fine! Any further on I think would’ve been quite uncomfortable. I was quite worried about DVT risk but just walked around every hour and drank lots and lots of water.

I am now on holiday with a 6 month old and very glad I did that last holiday baby free! It’s a whole different ballgame once you have a little one 🤣

Is it somewhere warm? Can I come too?! Yes, do it. I flew at 36 weeks and I don't remember it being an issue (was flying within the UK though so wasn't too concerned about needing medical care). Take your notes and vitamins and make sure you know where to go if you need anything. Enjoy!

I flew to the canaries at 30 weeks and stayed for 10 days. The flight was uncomfortable but I'd always recommend a holiday!

I went to the Seychelles around that stage, was fine, slight nausea at times on the plane/boat trip but nothing major. Was lovely to properly relax.

Currently sat by a pool in Portugal and I’ll be 27 weeks on Saturday.

Its lovely! Pick somewhere where you need to do minimal walking in the day (I get a bit more hot than normal) but I’d really recommend. Treated myself to a pregnancy massage at the hotel spa and it was amazing.

Caveat - I’ve had a very easy pregnancy and I checked that we weren’t too far from hospitals just in case.

Have fun!

30 years ago went to Florida at 28 weeks for a month. Only issue was the horrendous heartburn so could only eat mashed potatoes and drink milk! My bump was enormous as unknown to us baby had an issue (now picked up with routine scans) so crew were concerned I was more advanced than GP letter stated. All was fine and baby girl who is now 30 is currently in labour with her first! Go on holiday and enjoy it!!
