Pregnant with bleeding but couldn’t see much on scan

Hi everyone,
I’ve never posted on here before but have found reading lots of these threads really helpful over the last year.
Earlier in May this year I had a missed miscarriage and went through having surgical management. My period never came back but was told by the GP It was safe to try. I had a positive pregnancy test on fhe 13th September and believe this matches with my ovulation which if accurate, says it’s ovulated on the 29th august.
On Saturday I woke up feeling like I had wet myself and when going to the toilet, saw that bright red blood had soaked through everything. 111 referred me to the EPU and we went today for a scan. During the scan they said they could see a sac and something about 1mm but they can’t say or not whether it’s a viable pregnancy. They said I need to come back in 2 weeks for another scan to determine the outcome. In the meantime they have put me on progesterone.
I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share please? I am bracing myself for the worst but also don’t want to be too negative. It all feels like terrible dejavu from my previous miscarriage.
Thank you so much in advance.

So sorry OP. Didn't go through your situation but had my share of miscarriages... and I know how hard it can be.

Has the bleeding stepped? Maybe it's a hematoma. I had one , but it didn't bleed. Dr told me to increase progesterone dose in case it does bleed. So you are taking proper measures with the progesterone. The fact the sack was still there I'm guessing it's a good thing. So all you can do is pray. Fingers crossed and take care!

Thank you so much for your reply! I am currently bleeding but we’re not sure if it’s because of the internal scan earlier today. I phoned the EPU and they said they can’t be sure whether it’s because of the scan or the start of something and we just need to wait and see!

So sorry to read this, I've been in your position twice now and it's such a horrible situation to be in. Sending you hugs and good wishes.

If it is unfortunately another miscarriage make sure your GP does bloods as you can have them done after 2 miscarriages now.

Not entirely the same situation but I had bleeding around week 5. Dark blood, more when I wiped, didn't soak through anything. First scan they weren't able to see anything and said it was pregnancy of unknown location. Three days later had a second scan which revealed a gestational sac and possibly the beginning of a yolk sac, but the sonographer couldn't be sure. Had a follow-up scan after two weeks and there was a little baby with a heartbeat.

Best of luck!

Thank you so much! I’m really hoping this may happen to me too but trying to be realistic too as I know there’s a chance that it’s not a positive outcome. How long did your bleeding last can I ask?

About a week of bleeding every day with cramping. I went in because I was worried about an ectopic at the time. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
