So I've recently found out I'm pregnant on the copper coil, and it is properly in place. I'm so shocked and anxious about what to expect. I realise I will be checked for ectopic pregnancy and I may have to have the copper coil removed. I'm only 4 weeks and I'm going on my honeymoon and won't be back until I'm 5.5 weeks pregnant. Despite the risks with removing the coil and ectopic pregnancy, are there more miscarriage risks from the start just because I have the coil? Or is this more when I'm further along?
I really don't know what to feel at the moment. We just had my daughter, she's now 10 months and we had only slept together ONCE since I had the coil put in a few months ago. And here I am, pregnant! Especially gobsmacked because the coil hasn't dislodged or moved. I got this all checked when I started getting symptoms and I'm in disbelief. I will be keeping my baby, but I'm anxious about it working out because I have the coil.
Any advice, reassurance or someone else had a positive success story with the coil and becoming pregnant?
