Pregnancy test lines getting darker after miscarriage 4 weeks ago

Hello, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me..
my miscarriage started 29days ago today, I've been using hcg tests to make sure that it leaves my system, I got a negative on a standard 25 miu test last week but was still getting very very faint positives on the miu tests, the past 2 days they seem to have gotten darker, and I'm wondering if it might be possible that I'm pregnant or could it be more sinister..
I have had quite bad backache for the past 4 days, sensitive nipples and I've been feeling quite nauseous, I know it sounds silly but I've not had a period since June so it's like, I don't even remember whether that's normal 😅, I also had a lot of tugging on the right side of my pelvis 4 days ago, very noticeable, then yesterday morning it was the left.

I am wondering if it's just darker because I have the cheap tests and maybe they're not consistent or the hcg leaving my system if stronger because I've not been drinking enough, I don't know what to think really, so thank you for any help/advice

I would suggest contacting your gp and getting a scan. It's possible you're pregnant again but it's also possible all the previous pregnancy hasn't come away and you might need some treatment for that to prevent further problems. I'm really sorry for your loss.

I would be worried this could be an ectopic pregnancy, I think you need to go to an EPU to have this checked out. Maybe call 111. But I have only had an ectopic not a miscarriage and I don’t know what happens with hormones etc, but I thought I had had a miscarriage and my tests in the EPU showed I was still pregnant and I had to have surgery to,remove the tube.

Thank you! I had a scan with a specialist 11 days after my miscarriage started and it was confirmed that everything had come away.

But I might wait until the end of the month, just incase these are period signs and the last bit of hcg is just taking a while to leave. The limbo is hard to deal with 😅

The pregnancy I miscarried was confirmed fortunately, I had a scan after and my uterus had returned to normal, I am just waiting for my hcg to stop being detectable via pregnancy test.

At the EPU they did tell me to contact them if I am still testing positive after 3weeks which will be Tuesday, so hopefully they'll be able to help me if I am, it's just a bit confusing as they've got darker the last few days, and I have all these symptoms.

It could be a new pregnancy. I fell straight after my miscarriage (ovulated the day after my hcg tests went negative) and 10 days later was positive again so it's certainly possible. I would give your EPU a call where you went re the miscarriage and see if they will see you - they'll probably say to keep testing. You'll know in a few days if its just a weird residual / change in test or whether it's getting stronger xxxxxx hope you're doing ok, its a strange set of emotions to deal with if this is a new pregnancy xxxxxx

Wow, no way. I was checking my ovulation but I think hcg was giving me incorrect results, if not then I would have ovulated 8 days ago
I'm doing ok thank you, trying to stay positive! I hope you are too, I am sorry that you went through miscarriage too 😞
I reckon if I am successful again, I will be a bit of a nervous wreck 🤭😅
