Small head circumference (HC) at anomaly scan?

I’m very worried, I’m not sleeping well with the anxiety and not eating right either due to the stress this is causing me. Just to add I would carry on with the pregnancy and have my baby either way no matter what they had or hadn’t found at my 20 week scan, but the the unown and googling is making me stressed (not easy to stop!)

My babies head circumference is on 9th percentile and everything else checked is above 65%. Does anybody have any advice or private tests I could get done? The sonographer was asking me questions like have you been abroad recently etc, but when he plugged it in and it said 9% he said no action was needed as the Nhs don’t do anything below 6%. I am still concerned however especially when the other measurements are not low too. I’m worried I’ve damaged my baby somehow.

My baby had a head size on 9th centile in her 20 week scan. She was born with a normal size head and now at 3.5 months it’s still normal. Please try not to worry it could be because the baby was moving about.

I had loads of scans throughout my pregnancy as baby’s head was falling off the chart. Turns out his head is normal
sized, and as a 3 year old, mostly likes to use it as a battering ram. There’s such tiny margins between the centiles, and scans are notoriously inaccurate for size and weight. I think I had a consultant chat at the time but they just said what will be will be.

Thank you glad your baby was ok! I think I got more upset when he kept trying to get a different measurement but it was coming out the same or worse, not a better one. I would tell anybody else not to worry but hard to take my own advice I think x @YellowDaisies321

@instantpotnoodle thank you for the reassurance, glad your son is all okay! Yeah whatever will be will be, I’m getting a growth scan later on in pregnancy due to diabetes anyway , it just feels like a long wait away and a lot of worrying! I will just have to hope my story is the same as yours and some do the others I have read where everything turned out ok!

We had a 4d scan a bit later in and they checked her head circumference then and it was 36th centile! The difference is sooooo tiny it’ll be ok x

@YellowDaisies321 i really appreciate the reassurance, think i just needed to write my feelings out somewhere rather than bottling it up! Xx
