37 weeks - just feel so broken

I’m having a pity party today.

I’m 37 weeks, I’ve got a cold that’s lasted for about 4 weeks that just won’t go away (tested repeatedly for covid) so feeling so run down, I’ve got a cough I want to bugger off as I’m due to have c-section, still haven’t got my date as my trust is working on about a weeks notice at the moment, under management for OC and want to rip my skin off at times and I had cramp in my leg two days ago that was agony and still really hurts.

My DH is amazing and is literally running around after me, getting house ready, looking after toddler DS - who is definitely having a daddy is favourite moment - he’s genuinely run away/thrown himself on the floor to get away from me.

I just want to stop feeling so run down. There’s only so many vitamins/vegetables/juices I can take.

Didn't want to read and run - I'm only 22 weeks atm myself.!

That sounds so rough. Sickness is bad enough as it is let enough when you're heavily pregnant. So sorry you're having a bad time.:( I don't have any children yet but I am a teacher of little children and very familiar with how fickle they can be in their affections, I.e. "The person who is being the most fun right now is my fave!" And then I see it get a bit more sophisticated as they get older, become more empathetic and can judge beyond what's happening in that particular second! :p

It all sounds incredibly frustrating and I really hope your cough and cold start to feel better and you get you c section date soon. I would def be having a pity party too!

Take care! Xx

I’d try to get a persistent cough checked by your gp- you may need antibiotics for an infection?

Be aware that OC affects absorption of vit K which is essential for normal blood clotting. Check your leg pain isn’t symptomatic of a blood clot- you can look at symptoms of this in the NHS website (see thrombosis)

I’m sure you just wanted a moan but thought I’d give you some advice too.

Sorry you’re having a rough time right now x

Without wanting to alarm you, persistent coughing and feeling unwell can be an indicator that small particles of a blood clot have travelled to your lungs.

Just something to be aware of (in light of your OC) and worth getting checked out if you don’t improve in the next couple of days.

111 are usually helpful if you want to discuss your symptoms x
