Hiii.. has anyone here had a pregnancy whilst having Ulcerative Coitus and been on a infusion medicine such as Vedolizumab? I am not sure if it is safe to continue taking it as there seems to have been little research as to how it effects the baby...

or has anyone come off of it for pregnancy and decided it was a mistake?

I am worried staying on it will effect the baby's health and coming off of it will mean i wont be able to give the baby enough nutation as previously to it i was going to the bathroom approx. 20 times a day and not taking in enough nutrients...

Any shared experiences or advice would be great

thank you x

Hi, yes I had infusions every 8 weeks during pregnancy. And have had two postpartum. My little boy was born a good weight and healthy and I was able to stay well through out my pregnancy, best I’ve felt in 15 years. I hope this helps xx

Hi, there is a pharmacist called Wendy Jones who runs The Breastfeeding Network. She also has IBD so knows all about the drugs used and if they are safe in pregnancy etc.

Hiya,
Looking for advice from anyone else with UC/IBD that has been on biologics but also prednisolone during pregnancy (I’m currently 16 weeks). Prednisolone is causing me blood glucose issues now and it’s so hard to manage with such a restricted diet already due to the UC.
any hints, tips, or success stories from Stelara/Usketinumab would be amazing too!! Recently discontinued Vedolizumab and Azathioprine before that :(
