Anterior low lying placenta and short cervix. FTM

Found out at my 21-week scan. Now 21+4 with an 18mm cervix. I have started progesterone pessaries. Now, I am worried that my low-lying anterior placenta may not move up and what the risk would be if I were to go into premature labour and have a vaginal birth. Obviously, the Internet is the worst place to go. My anxiety was non-existent until now 😩

Hey@SolaceSoul

didn’t want to read and run! I was told I had a low lying placenta with my lg and google was terrible. By the next scan, it had already moved so please try not to worry!

I got told I had a low lying placenta today at 20 week scan mine is posterior and about 2cm from cervix

another scan arranged for 32 wks but midwife didn’t seem overly concerned

9/10 they move upwards when you grow bigger

I’m a second time mum btw so mine may have been likely as I’ve had a previous c section but didn’t have this issue in first pregnancy

try not to worry the odds are with us that the placenta will move when it grows with the baby and hopefully will be up and out of the way xx
