Early pregnancy scan

Just looking for fellow ivf or non ivf parents that have had early scans and told baby is measuring a week behind.

Just had my 7 week scan today and left deflated that baby isn't the size they should be and exactly a week behind.

Hi, I did - I didn’t have IVF I had clomid so had a scan for that reason i went to the scan expecting to be 7 weeks 3 days and measured at 6 weeks 4 days - they didn’t seem concerned and am now 17 weeks and all is fine. Did the hospital say I’d they were worried? Wishing you all the best x

I had a scan at 7 weeks (or what I thought was 7 weeks - NHS, EPAU), was told I was measuring at 6 weeks.

By my 12 week scan (which the hospital used my dates and not the date set by the scan) everything was normal and back to measuring according to my dates.

Thank you @ChateauProvence &@hdbs17 for replying. Its the fertility clinic said to be cautiously optimistic because its full week behind and IVF. They'd expect to see bit more, I think that's why the concern. So I've to wait until next Wednesday now. There is a heartbeat but also not what it should be but that's because of size. Everything else is there though.

@Ohwow2022 keeping my fingers crossed for you but a heartbeat is a very good sign!

Not IVF but I was scanned at what I thought was 7 & 9 weeks and measured 2 weeks behind! On the first scan they could just see the sac so said to expect a mc but I’m currently 27 weeks with no problems😊

The only time I was measuring behind and it ended well was because I was five days out with my dates as I forgot I ovulate later than average and everything was based on LMP dates.

The two other times ended in missed miscarriages.

@ChateauProvence thank you so much for checking in. My mornings are getting worse so emotional. Then the afternoon and eves I'm ok and more positive. Getting cramps and some nausea in the eves but I think I'll have that either way. Just clinging to the hope we've a heartbeat and they may just be slow grower. Fingers crossed 🤞

This must be really worrying for you. With the early scans, the difference is millimetres and the person scanning may make a difference as well. I hope it’s all well for Wednesday.

@BeingATwatItsABingThing it truly is the worst week of my life! Don't think I've ever been so low but each bridge you have to cross and hopefully it's an easy path on Wednesday. Millimetres break hearts! It's crazy.

Unfortunately our little one didn't make it. Heart beat stopped and they measured at 6 weeks. I should be 8 tomorrow. I'm very calm but scared for next part. Thank you to you all for reaching out. Good luck with your pregnancies. Onwards and upwards for us!

My daughter is going through this now. She had her 6 week scan. Dates accurate because it’s ivf. Showed smaller than normal gestational sac and yolk. No fetal pole. Told to go back next Wednesdays to see if fetal pole and heartbeat present. If not then it will not be a vaiable pregnancy. We haven’t got much hope. It’s just awful. She only had this one viable embryo so none on freeze so have to do it all again. X
