Im a nurse and have been unknowingly caring for a patient with active CMV for the past couple of weeks. I have avoided contact with him since Saturday when we found out. Now I’ve had a sore throat for the past 3 days and am freaking out. I sent an email to my midwife team about it a couple of days ago but no response. The only number I have is for urgent concerns which this isn’t. Just wondering if anyone’s had a similar experience? Or has had CMV in pregnancy? Not sure if there is anything. They can do for me anyway. Would be nice to just know if I have it or not! I’m 22 weeks pregnant xx

Advice from NHS is to see GP if pregnant and have symptoms of CMV. Hopefully the sore throat is from a different viral infection but its worth seeing if they can test you for it given recent repeated exposure. Then your mind will either be at rest or you'll know that you have it, then your baby can be appropriately monitored to check for any symptoms although often it is harmless. Sorry you have been put in this position! Wishing you all the best ❤️

I would say this is urgent enough to call that midwife number, I don't think it's unreasonable at all.
