Sorry for random question and advice.

I am 41 and fully aware my fertility is likely dropped / dropping. I have a 3 year old.

My husband and I decided a year ago we felt too old to try for a second. But now I’m having doubts. I just decided to come off the pill and see what happens. With no expectation or plan just to see what my body does.

Anyone else? I’m scared of either outcome really and just looking for advice on how to stay stoic about it

Thanks

Sounds a good approach if you both agree. You are definitely not too old.

to be honest. I actually feel really scared of actively trying for a second. I don’t want to go through pregnancy issues or loss (which I’ve faced before). It’s such a hard journey and your overall health can be so impacted (mental and physical)

If you both agree it then I don't see any issue. DH and I tried actively for 2 years from the age of 39, 7 chemicals and 1 mmc later we agreed to stop actively trying but see what happens. I'm now nearly 45 and despite very regular sex I've not even had a chemical since I was 41

I feel very lucky and got pregnant within a few cycles when I was 38. I would assume now I’m 41 it’s a different story?

@JKDcot I am 42 and fell pregnant at 41 for the first time but sadly ended in an mmc. I am now pregnant again shortly after the mmc and mentally it's been the toughest experience (physically, a breeze so far) I have ever had. So terrified every day that it will stop like it did last time. I may be further along but the anxiety doesn't get better.
If you are in two minds about it, let fate decide for you both.
