2nd sweep successes!!

I’m going in for my second sweep today, my first was on Monday. Does anyone have any success stories of a second sweep working after the first didnt?
I’m currently 40+4 and the sweep the midwife did on Monday, she said, was successful. She managed a good sweep round and said I was 2cm dilated and cervix was good, baby’s head very very low. But nothings happened since 👎🏼 I’m just hoping to avoid medical induction!!

You can always avoid medical induction by declining it until a date that you feel comfortable with. (I declined mine at 41+5 and baby was born 41+6)

Sweeps don't 'work' unless baby is ready to be born anyway, so try not to stress, do things that make you happy and get the oxytocin flowing. At 40+4 it's likely your baby will be here in the next week or so x

My second sweep did the trick. At My first sweep the midwife said she couldn't even reach my cervix. At the second, sweep the doctor, with very big hands nearly pulled me a part, but baby came that night. Apparently the optimal time for sweeps to work is 40+9 and I was exactly that..

Ok, just to add, this is my 3rd baby and my first two were born at 39 and 40 weeks exactly so this isn’t the norm for me 😂
