Hello,
I have been feeling pretty awful for the last couple of weeks with no apparent reason, really sleepy, bloated and painful tummy, emotional. I decided to take a test just to rule it out not expecting at all to be positive but it came back positive immediately intact I thought the test and control lines were switched around it was that dark and quick to appear.
this will be baby number 4 and we really really are not prepared for this at all.
My eldest has adhd and is very hard work, my other two are fairly easy going. We had pretty much decided we weren’t going to have another.
I’m on Venlafaxine AD’s 150mg per day and I’ve read they are not suitable during pregnancy. I’m petrified of coming off them as have heard the withdrawal is horrendous.
I don’t know how far along I am either, I had a very heavy period starting 21st July (I only know as I went away on holiday then and it was ridiculously heavy!) and then again I had a very light bleed about 3/4 weeks ago.
I have just found out an hour ago and no idea what to do. Do I call the doctors and how do I explain how far along I am? Sorry for stupid question, my other were all planned so we knew how far along I was.
thanks

Last bleed could have been implantation bleeding or light period, so you should be either 4 weeks or 8 weeks. Call and ask for advice, you won't be the first or last to be unsure. You could give it a couple of weeks and book a private scan. A 10 week pregnancy would be very visible, 6 weeks they probably wouldn't see much. Especially if you're on meds not suitable for pregnancy though I'd get advice sooner rather than later!

I’ve just gone out and bought a clear blue test which shows pregnant 3+ so I’m guessing the bleed I had 3/4 weeks ago was not a period. I’ve contacted the doctor to make an initial consultation. My head is a mess and I don’t know what to do.

@Nonono11 dont stress over it you have done the right thimg by contacting your gp 🙂 he/she could probably refer you to your local epau for a scan if your not sure how far along you are, i bet your last period was the 21July 🤣 & the light bleed could of been implantation bleeding... you definatly must be anywhere between 5 & 8 weeks atleast! x

Hi, thanks for thinking of me, I’ve spoken to the gp and had a scan, I am just over 9 weeks now. I’m still not 100% sure what to do and im conscious that time is running out for me to make a decision. I worry about coping with the children I have, my eldest has adhd and is difficult, and I feel I won’t have enough time for him. My mental health isn’t great as it is. Whenever I think about terminating it makes me really panicked though I don’t know how I could go through with it.

Wow, so I wasn't far off then 😁 n'awww, how does your partner feel about the unexpected pregnancy? I see life as truly a miracle from how we all start I find it fascinating 😂& when you least expect it life itself can give you an unexpected blessing 💕 I personally would keep if i was you as it sounds like you wouldn't be able to go through with an abortion due to your mental health? Honestly everything happens for a reason, good or bad but only time will tell & for now you can take your pregnancy one day at a time... if it makes you feel any better I am currently 19 weeks with our 5th & we have 2 children with SEN - 1 child who's 7 with ADHD & the other child is 5 with severe non verbal autism! So I understand your current situation & feelings but also if you struggle with mental health, midwife or GP can refer you to the perinatal mental health team, and they will offer you support. Private message me if you want and we can talk in further detail? 😊 x

You still have a bit of time to think over your options, have a look at some termination services such as BPAS to get some more information on some potential options. It doesn’t mean you have to make a decision but it is better to be more informed

you have yourself and your 3 children to think about and it already sounds like you have a lot on your plate , it is not an easy decision and I fear it is one of those that whatever you choose you’ll always have some doubts. trust yourself and what you think is best for your family and that will be the right decision
im sending you love I can’t imagine how hard and scary this must be💗
