Hey!
Just love to hear from others who are pregnant for the first time, like myself.
I'm due in mid May and thought it might be a nice opportunity for us ladies to chat and support one another. Flowers

I'm about 5 weeks at the moment, and feeling tired often.

How is everyone else?

Hey, I’m due February so am 17 weeks tomorrow. How have you been feeling?

bellaflower · 11/09/2023 20:50

@ChateauProvence
Aw congrats.
I'm feeling ok at the moment just extremely tired to be honest.
How about you?

Hey, first time mama here too!
Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊
I think it's a nice idea to have a thread like this.

I'm due in just over 8 weeks (11th November) so I haven't got long left, and am getting pretty nervous haha, also been struggling with the physical aspects of being heavily pregnant, as well as the heat, but excited to finally meet my baby soon. I'm surprised at how quickly the time has gone. I remember the first trimester tiredness- it was so difficult to stay awake and I remember falling asleep at the most inappropriate times 😅 hope you're doing well.

Try and nap as much as you can/need to, it helps a lot. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy with manageable symptoms! 💐

iru96 · 11/09/2023 22:32

Hi! Smile

I'm currently 7 weeks - due in April 2024.

I have been feeling so nauseous (without sickness) for the last week. It's horrendous. Hoping it calms down soon - I think being sick would be better as I'd get some relief because this feeling is just constant and draining to say the least.

I'm taking Pregnacare Max ... not sure if it may due to these .. taking a break from them and taking folic acid and vitamin D separately

junebuglb · 11/09/2023 23:14

hiya! my first pregnancy too, I’m also due mid may, I think I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and should be due 14 May. 😊👍
i’m so happy, but also just hoping so badly that everything is ok/stays ok. have booked a private scan for early October when I will be 8 weeks. exciting!

Frankie2607 · 12/09/2023 11:27

Hiya! I’m also pregnant for the first time and am just under 6 weeks pregnant. I’ve already needed one trip to EPU for a scan (🤦🏻‍♀️). Due back there again on Thursday for a follow up scan. Really hoping little bambino has grown and maybe see a heartbeat… The nerves will set in tomorrow, I’m sure.

main things I’ve been feeling is sick on/off but with no vomiting. My appetite has also gone a bit and getting easily tired.

hope everything’s going well for you ☺️

Aly1991 · 12/09/2023 11:47

First time pregnancy here too! I'll be due around 21st May, all being well. So really early at 4+1. Apart from bloating, the odd little butterfly cramp and gassy (sorry, tmi xD) everything is pretty normal. Lines have been getting steadily darker on my tests, and apart from worrying like anyone else would, I'm just taking things a day at a time:)

whatthehelldowecare · 12/09/2023 14:04

First timer here too, love the idea of this thread! I'm due early May, all going well

A little surprise for us, but we're very happy now we're over the initial shock! Going on our long awaited honeymoon which has been booked since we got married during Covid at the end of the month.. going to be a very different trip for me!!

No real symptoms for me either other than some light cramping and feeling quite gassy, but on the whole I'm feeling good!

Exciting times for us all!

Cinai · 12/09/2023 14:10

First time pregnant too….very early stages, I’m 4.5 weeks. I want to book an early scan at 6 weeks for reassurance. I’ve had random bouts of low level nausea from 3.5 weeks and some cramping. And then days like today where I feel nothing at all. Slightly worried about the nausea and whether this will completely wipe me out when it fully kicks in.

Snowdrop79 · 12/09/2023 14:37

Hey! First timer here too. Due May 18th. I’m actually abroad (but from the UK originally) so the healthcare system here is all a little different to the NHS. Other than cramping and sore nipples no other symptoms yet. Has anyone started to tell anyone their news yet? Struggling to decide when to do it.

@LotusPetals thanks for the advice and hope the last bit of your pregnancy goes well!

Cinai · 12/09/2023 14:41

Oh yes, I’m also wondering when to tell the news. My mum wants to arrange some family holidays and keeps calling me because she needs to know when I’m available…I’m not sure for how much longer I can avoid telling her that holidays next year are probably off the cards.

whatthehelldowecare · 12/09/2023 14:44

@Snowdrop79 we've told our parents, my sister and my stepdaughter and our two best friends.

Trying to keep it to that, but I'm back in the office today for the first time since finding out and I'm having to basically gag myself from telling everyone - goodness knows how I'll get to 12 weeks 😂😂

Aly1991 · 12/09/2023 14:45

I've told my mother and two best friends (one of them is a guy who works for the NHS on a maternity ward, so he's more than used to keeping secrets) but I'm not telling the rest of the family for a good few weeks yet. I'm very cautious this early about telling many.

ChateauProvence · 12/09/2023 14:51

I’ve had no sickness but quite a lot of bleeding has been very worrying but they are putting it down to cervical erosion. Everyone keeps saying to enjoy the pregnancy but I’m not sure I can until baby is here nice and safe! Does anyone feel the same?

Snowdrop79 · 12/09/2023 15:11

@whatthehelldowecare that’s a nice group to know. My GP has recommended a dating scan at 8 weeks so I think we will tell our parents then if all is good. Just my best friend knows so far (and my OH of course). Yes keeping it quiet is hard, decaf coffees and no drinking or turning down brie, all telling signs. I think people will figure out pretty quickly.
@Aly1991 i feel the same too. My SIL is pregnant with her second, she told everyone at 5 weeks for both and she had a healthy first pregnancy (so far so good with her second) but I don’t think I’m that brave!

Congrats 💖💙💖 me too, 16 weeks so far.
I got through first trimester morning sickness by constantly eating to beat the nausea!! I found as soon as my tummy was empty I’d gag like I’m about to throw up, so I carried healthy snacks (apple slices, carrot sticks, plain crackers, nuts) everywhere, it saved me! I never threw up once! But the fatigue got me though haha! I slept a lot and at every opportunity😂 ❤️

Aly1991 · 12/09/2023 15:17

@ChateauProvence 100%, I'm like this too. I've already booked an early scan for 7 weeks so that I can put some semblance of worries behind me. I know that more pregnancies finish up happy and healthy than one's that don't, however I'm the kind of person who doesn't believe I have any luck, so I'm not letting myself get too excited 😅

Snowdrop79 · 12/09/2023 15:17

@ChateauProvence the anxiety is next level isn’t it. I hope the bleeding settles down and wishing you a straightforward rest of your pregnancy✨

MRSLMF · 12/09/2023 15:20

Hi all I'm a first time too! 10 weeks tomorrow (ivf pregnancy) due date 10th April!
Had x3 scans already due to bleeding from a hematoma! So stressful! We saw our little one again yesterday and had a nice strong heartbeat and little arms and legs growing! So cute seeing this tiny little thing having a wriggle around ❤️
Everyone talks about morning sickness and nausea in first trimester.....no one mentions the complete and utter exhaustion 😅 I've never been so tired even after 12hrs sleep!
Hope you are all doing okay and plodding along nicely!
Xxx

whatthehelldowecare · 12/09/2023 15:21

@Snowdrop79 the no drinking thing is going to be difficult for me to get around with a wider group of friends. We were meant to be going out on Friday night but a work thing propped up for me, so we rescheduled for next week because I wouldn't have been able to drink. Now can't drink then either.. going to have to get inventive with my excuses given the whole reschedule was so I could have a bottle of wine or two lol!

bellaflower · 12/09/2023 15:47

@LotusPetals thank you for lovely post. Huge congrats to you too, not long to go!

Oh the tiredness is insane, I am loving the extra naps for sure.

@iru96 congratulations!
How are you getting on with the nausea? Found any remedies?

OP posts:
bellaflower · 12/09/2023 15:50

@junebuglb I am totally with you there and congrats!
I believe my due date is either 13th or 14th. Really not sure, will have to wait until the scan I guess.

I'm nervous but excited too.
