Hi, so I've been given the above pessaries since Friday... Until I'm 16 weeks. The thing is I feel awful... And struggling, wondering if anyone else on these has any advice?

I use them rectally because the thought of them causing spotting if used vaginally scares me to death so I've opted for rectal. But my god, I feel constantly uncomfortable down there 😩 I feel like it's full and I darent pass wind coz I pass fluid containing... Well... What comes out your rectum 🤦‍♀️ how do I cope with this for another 10 weeks??

Please help x

@Kellyaust I'm sorry you're struggling but I just wanted to say that I suffered very similar side effects when I first started using the cyclogest and I'm now Week 12 and have very few side effects anymore and probably haven't for 2-3 weeks now. The first 4 weeks were the hardest but it definitely hasn't lasted the entire time. (I also took rectally as I the anxiety of anything 'passing' vaginally made me instantly think I was miscarrying again). It can be a little uncomfortable but after 5-10 minutes I carry on with my day. I hope things get better for you

@Kellyaust so sorry that your side effects are this bad ☹️

Thank you, i definitely have to stop rectally because the pain and my bowels won't allow it any longer, now I'm just praying I don't bleed, also the sleeping... Wow. I sleep for 30 mins at a time, and even then I have the worst nightmares I've ever had in my life. I'm going to try persevere at least until my 8 week check next week. Maybe I'm on too high of a dose? I mean actually there's no medical proof that I actually need the extra progesterone.. Its a "just in case" situation x
