currently 4+2 weeks pregnant, but have been spotting for a few days, bleeding has gotten slightly worse, spotting is now red blood. GP seems to think it’s an early miscarriage however took a test this morning and the line is much darker than it has been before. Anyone ever experienced this?

hCG levels may continue to rise for a while, and take a good long time to go down, even during a miscarriage.

However, it is also possible you are not actually miscarrying.

Unfortunately, this early, there is very little that can be done, in terms of reassurance, as even a scan wouldnt show anything.

If you really are miscarrying, the tests will get lighter as the days go by.

I bled red blood for three days from my first positive test, it was enough to need pads. Doctor put it down to a heavy implantation bleed. Am now 32 weeks and all well so far. As PP said, unfortunately it's a waiting game to see which way it will go.

Early pregnancy bleeding is such a grey area. This happened to me at 4 weeks. Heavy period like bleeding and I was told by EPU it was likely a chemical pregnancy. I had my hcg levels tested over the course of the week and they continued to rise a little despite bleeding, later on they found the pregnancy to still be continuing.
