I'd recommend calling the early pregnancy unit at your hospital (or, failing that, 111) and they'll get you checked out. DW had bleeding at a similar time and I know it's scary. I hope you're okay.

i have been told its normal to lose some clots in early pregnancy by them and as long as im not soaking through 3 pads in a hour its ok ive had a few cramps but when i go to the toliet it looks worse its scary as ive never had it before with my other pregnancys plus i had a stillbirth at 8 months

I can't imagine how horrible that must have been. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is smooth and that you can enjoy it. It seems bleeding is really common early on, and it doesn't mean you won't have a healthy happy baby soon.

How much brown discharge are you getting? Did you call 111?

I soaked through 4 of the black super thick night time pads I. 30 mins at 13 weeks and was losing so much blood I was admitted overnight for monitoring. It wasn’t brown though and didn’t smell. I also had clots the size of the palm of your hand. I was told that it would turn into a miscarriage but the little guy is 25 weeks now. The bleeding took about 2 weeks to stop completely.
unfortunately, there is nothing you or the doctors can do and it is a waiting game, if you feel unwell or lose a lot of blood I’d go in but otherwise I was told just to stay in bed, and don’t do any exercise, cleaning, lifting, stairs or anything that could make it worse. It sounds great but after 3 weeks i was so frustrated!
I really hope for the best for you, I have had 12 miscarriages and this is the furthest I’ve ever got so I know what it feels like to be in limbo and whilst this one has (hopefully) worked out all my others didn’t.
