How much notice were you given for your 12 week scan?

I had my booking appointment last Friday at 9+1 where the midwife said they were really busy at the moment and it would probably be more like 13 weeks when I would get the 12w scan. She said I would either get a letter or it would appear on BadgerNotes (don’t even get me started how much I hate having an app) but to chase it up if I hadn’t heard anything by 12+6.

it’s making me anxious and I don’t want to have to chase it! Just wondering typically how much notice other people were given and did you get a letter or did it just appear on the app? Thank you

Hi
in my experience the app is rubbish. Hardly anything has mine has been uploaded on there.

after my booking I called the hospital myself and asked them to book it for me which they did. I would just give the sonography department a call and tell them you’ve been told you need to book a 12 week scan

I only had a weeks notice. Scan was on 13+1. My booking appointment was also super late, 11 weeks exactly.

I live in a rural area and was given 3 weeks notice.

I registered with midwives pretty much straight away, Ive already had my appointment through which will be bang on 12 weeks in October.

I got given mine at 8 week booking in appointment. It's booked for 12+3. I would ring and push for a date if you can do it doesn't go over too much x

The post where I live is terrible so letters are delayed at the moment (even NHS ones). I'd give the department a ring. The midwife might not know but the scanning sept will

With my first apparently a bunch of letters got ‘lost’ so I only found out about mine when I called the midwife at about 11 weeks to find out why I hadn’t had an appointment yet 🙃 if not I wouldn’t have found out until the day before as they ring to confirm your appointment / see if you’re still going lol. Not sure if it’s the same now as that was during Covid so I think they were checking if you had any Covid symptoms tbh x

Thanks all! Someone I know has chose the same hospital as me and is currently 12 weeks. She hadn't heard anything regarding her scan so she gave the hospital a call and they had her booked in for end of this month where she would have been almost 16 weeks (which is obviously too late) but she hadn't heard anything about the appointment! She's booked in for 13 weeks now but if she had of just left it god knows when they would have contacted her.

I think I might give the hospital a call when I reach 11 weeks next week if I haven't heard anything.

I had an absolute nightmare getting my booking appointment sorted too I had to chase my GP a few times as they'd 'forgot' to pass my details on to the midwife so haven't had a great experience so far.
