I saw my midwife for 16 week check up last week and my urine sample showed leukocytes which midwife said was infection. At the time I was convinced I had thrush and so put it down to that and we did a swab and while I was waiting for the results I treated it with a pessary (I've had thrush about 8 times this year!)
Anyway the swab has come back negative! I'm really shocked. I asked my midwife and she said it could be pregnancy discharge contaminating my urine? Is this a thing? I have tested positive for Strep B in the past as well. Other than a burning/itching feeling inside (which I put down to thrush) and my wee possibly being a bit smelly (I think) I haven't had any other symptoms and since I used the pessary the burring has gone.
On a separate note, I went to my MAU unit last night cause I was having some pain but everything is fine. I told them about the sample and the doctor said the midwife should have sent it off. I am seeing my midwife again tomorrow so I will ask if she did. I did give them another sample at the hospital last night and doctor said it was fine but also said that he'd check it gets sent off.
So I'm really confused as to whether I have a UTI or not?!
