Hi,

The first test shows my result at about 4 weeks 5 days and the 2nd at 5 weeks 5 days. The test line is a lot darker than the control line, is this anything to worry about?

No you're just taking a very sensitive test at over 5 weeks.

this is nothing to worry about. It’s called a dye stealer which means that the HCG is so strong that the pregnancy line starts developing so quickly that the control line is a weaker line. I had to Google it when someone first told me about it.

Thank you both. I had 2 miscarriages in 3 months at the beginning of the year so my anxiety is through the rough x

Totally understand. But from what I’ve read it seems like those kind of tests are what people want. It means that your HCG is increasing the way it should do. Are you able to get an early scan? I had one at 6 weeks 4 days and it really helped with my anxiety.

I booked an early scan last night for 2 weeks time, I’ll be 7 weeks 4 days when I have it. I am counting down the days x

That’s great that you are able to do that. I have had really intense periods of anxiety in the first trimester. Im now 12 weeks 2 days. I spoke with another friend of mine who has a son and she said the anxiety is totally normal which helped me but didn’t make the anxiety any less. My therapist taught me to visualise myself holding a healthy baby after having a really easy birth every time I felt anxious and that did help a bit.

How many scans did you have? I am just dealing with 1 day at a time x

I had a scan at 6 weeks 4 and then one at 8 weeks 6 and I recently had my 12 week scan last Friday. I defo was trying to take it a day at a time. I had some days where it was manageable and other days it felt so overwhelming. I definitely found having 2 scans before the 12 week was helpful for me. And even after that I still cried in the car all the way to the 12 week scan because I was so anxious that there was something wrong.

I have to say that I have probably felt the least anxious since I had my 12 week scan and bloods.

hiya just wanted to say I’ve found pregnancy after a miscarriage so hard ! But found it hopeful to get to different Milestones like booking an early scan like you say , then getting to the 12 weeks scan , hearing heart beat ect ..
im currently 38 weeks pregnant now & still feel quite anxious . Although it got a lot better for me when I could start to feel movements knowing she’s ok in there .
a dye stealer is also a good sign your HCG is strong 🤞 and going up from your last test !

I had my scan this morning, measuring 6 weeks with heartbeat. I thought I was 6 weeks 4 days so could have ovulated later than I thought

I’m so glad. I measured 4 days less that I thought at 6 week scan but by 12 weeks I was exactly what I thought I was. So it can change.
