New Job wanting to get pregnant

I’m a school teacher and I’m moving schools after the half term. It was very last minute that I got a new position (with leadership responsibilities) and me and my husband had already agreed on trying for baby number 3 in December. However I feel like I’m going to have to postpone this. I’ve just turned 32, hubby 34 and we have 2 ds. These things are so unpredictable I don’t want to miss out but don’t want to look unprofessional either. When do you think would be the right time to start trying?

Put it this way... your family is your family and will be there for you, you're with each other for life. Your job would replace you very quickly if something happened.

Prioritise family. Always.

It’s a job.You are easily replaceable no matter how much you enjoy your work or how invested you are.No guarentee you’ll get pregnant within a time frame of your choice even if you have kids already either.Depends on what’s more important to you.

Is your new job within the same local authority? Would you be able to claim maternity if you got pregnant straight away?

If you're within the same LEA and your maternity pay isn't impacted, then start trying when you want! Work will always be there and whatever personal sacrifices you make you're never thought more of - I've come to learn that!!

I was on the fence about taking a job when we had just discussed starting to try for no.2- put it this way, I've been in the job for 6 years now and only now am I pregnant with no.2, it's taken that long

So… pregnancy happened very quickly, which I’m very grateful for, however has brought about anxiety about broaching it with the new school. How should I go about this. I do feel guilty. I am in the same authority so wasn’t worried about maternity pay.
