Has anyone else experienced this? It’s similar to how I feel before a period, like a heavy feeling which is mainly felt like I need a poo (but I don’t!) and a bit of low back ache. Is this normal?

I'm 5 weeks and keep feeling like this too especially right now my low back pain is flaring again. Can't remember this in my previous successful preg so nervous after an MMC in may 🤞

Yes it’s normal. Likely due to hormones and extra blood starting to flow around there

Thanks @PickledScrump its so hard to know as if you Google (shouldn’t!!) reference is made to ‘pain’, cramps etc being signals of MC. Hopefully just normal as you suggest :)

@Anotheranxiousone that heavy feeling was the first sensation I had that I was pregnant with my third. That’s what made me take a test

Hi,

i had this exact feeling 2 weeks ago I’m currently 20+3 and I was SO anxious I felt exactly how did before having a period . I called antenatal who luckily for me are really lovely and understanding at my hospital so they called me in and listened to the heartbeat…I think more to put my mind at rest than anything else. Everything was fine and it went away after about a week as at this time it was a constant pain, now I get it on and off. The pain started after I did a very long quite strenuous walk so I think I’d just put extra pressure on everything plus the growing baby!

I really wouldn’t worry. Antenatal said I’m not so many words they would only be worried if the pain was accompanied by bleeding. :)

That’s reassuring thanks everyone!

Unfortunately this ended in a miscarriage for me, but it does just show the range of experiences women can have and that ‘normal’ for one isn’t the same for another. So basically second guessing symptoms won’t really help :)
