Threatened miscarriage? Brown spotting/bleeding?

Hi there.

i think I will be 5 weeks tomorrow (based off my period being due last wed) I’ve had some brown bleeding/spotting since late Saturday night. It’s every time I wipe I have brown light bleeding/spotting. Only couple of times it’s been a pinky/red tinted. I’m wearing a pad and there has been very little on that daily since. I have had some cramping on/off (I had terrible cramps with my first pregnancy no bleeding though and was healthy) but with the spotting has me worried.

Phoned EPU yesterday and they said I’m having a threatened miscarriage but this light bleeding can be very normal and just to keep an eye on it for the next 48-72hrs. It hasn’t got any heavier and my cramps haven’t gotten worse but it’s still there.

I am getting an early scan next week at my fertility clinic to see where the bleeding is coming from and I’m already booked in on the 13th (at 7weeks) to see heartbeat.

Does anyone have any good stories that have been is the same or similar situation?
It’s so hard just waiting and hoping this bleeding goes away and that everything is good and healthy.

I have some experience but unfortunately mine didn't end well. I didn't want to read and run though so just wanted to wish you the best as it is such a hard time x

Im trying to stay positive and hopeful, my husband is very positive and hopeful still but it’s different and harder when it your body. X

i had it twice like that and both ended no good sadly.
on one first occasion it was light brown spotting for about a week, everyone told me brown is good as old blood. Nope. It turned pink and then red a week later.

I'm in the same scenario as you. I'm 6 weeks pregnant after having my first embryo transfer from IVF and started having brown spotting last Wednesday and then on Saturday I had bright red bleeding with some clots and have immediately thought the worst. The bleeding then turned to very very dark brown like coffe grains and has slowly just stopped. I've got my first scan booked in for tomorrow so I really don't know what to think. Just wanted to leave a message to follow your journey and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

Hey @Dees89 it’s worrying and your mind goes to the worst doesn’t it! I’m so sorry you’re going through that, mines in little like coffee ground bits at times with watery light brown.
my close friend bleed with the two of her little ones and family have been trying to tell me it’s normal and happened with themselves.

@LittleLemonPie how is everything with you today? Are you still having some bleeding? I had my scan today and saw my little bubs who is doing just fine, good heartbeat, measuring at 6+4 so very happy. The bleeding I was having suddenly just stopped yesterday and the doctor said it was due to a blood clot towards the entrance of my cervix so is nothing to be concerned about. I hope everything is OK for you. When do you have your early scan? X

Had my hcg levels done yesterday will get the results this morning, my spotting yesterday started to stop and so far it’s stayed away so I’m really hoping all is well 🙏🏼🤞🏼
I have an early scan that was booked by the fertility clinic for 7weeks on the 13th, but the also booked me in for next wed 6th to see where the bleeding was coming from, might cancel it tho because I’m scared if it’s too early we won’t see anything and will make me worry more!

Such a magical time yet so worrying.
