IVF & Aspirin from 12 weeks

Just wondered if those of you that have had IVF pregnancies or are currently pregnant have been told to take aspirin (150mg) from 12 weeks onwards?

At my booking appointment I was told I had to but only because it was an IVF pregnancy, no other factor. I can't find anything else to back it up online and another IVF thread I'm on not many others were told the same. Does it depend on midwife?!

I just didn't really want to take something that wasn't necessarily needed and wonder if I should query it with my clinic

Hi,

I am 15 weeks pregnant with an IVF baby. I am on aspirin but I was told it was due to me being older (41) I was at higher risk of pre-eclampsia.

Wishing you luck with your pregnancy!!

Thank you @Scotty22. I have heard about being over 40 that you get given it. Hope your pregnancy is going well ☺️
I have a hiatus hernia too so not supposed to take NSIADS, will raise with the midwife again next time I think!

Ok thank you. I'm 36 so not really sure why they are saying I need to take it just for it being an IVF pregnancy alone 😏

@wtawtaw my friend was given it because she had a history of miscarriage

I took it up until 38 weeks with an ivf pregnancy as advised by my consultant.

I was recommended to take it throughout all of my ivf cycles, though I can't really remember why. I was only 32 on first cycle, so not age.
