Clearblue weeks gone from 3+ to 2-3 - is it all over?

I’m absolutely paranoid in this pregnancy and I’m only 5 weeks 2 days. I got positive test at about 11DPO. Strong lines for few days and did a digi showing 1-2 weeks. 5 days later I did another digi and got 2-3 and a week later 3+. That was tel days ago. Had a digi left so out of interest did it this afternoon (only about half hour after last wee) and got 2-3. I’m totally despairing. I held wee and did another one just now (3 hour hold, didn’t drink much during that time) and it’s 2-3 again. I don’t know what to do. I can just wait of course but j don’t think my mental health can cope. Doctors shut until Tuesday so no option to try to get a blood test from them. I’ve convinced myself I’ve lost the baby/it’s not viable and just need to know either way :(

@Anotheranxiousone I'm glad to hear that. Yes, stop testing now and enjoy it

@TheShellBeach If your comment about progesterone was in response to mine, I got confused & thought OP had had other MC too which is why I mentioned it.

Definitely stay away from testing. Just concentrate on taking care of yourself and try to stay relaxed. Smile

Actually, my comment about progesterone was to the OP, who asked how she could get some prescribed.

OP I'm glad you're feeling better about your pregnancy now.

I had this happen with my daughter, only use your first morning pee for the clear blue weeks one. I was 6 weeks and got a 2-3 in the afternoon after getting 3+ at 4 and a bit weeks (really early)

Stop testing, maybe book an early scan for reassurance x

Nooo. "Reassurance" scans, done too early, always seem to lead to threads where the OP panics when no heartbeat is seen.
The reality is this: it doesn't matter what your pregnancy tests and scans say - you're either pregnant or you're not, and it's either viable or not, so you might as well save hundreds of pounds and start a savings account for the baby

ConfessionsOfAMumDramaQueen · 26/08/2023 12:46

Absolutely don't book a reassurance scan until at least 8 weeks, ideally 9! You'll see mumsnet is covered in threads of people that went for '6 week reassurance scans', saw nothing and got turfed out onto the street leaving the overstretched NHS to pick up the pieces. The NHS then can't do anything more than come back in a couple of weeks (which shows everything fine in most cases) so you've been stressed out and anxious for no reason!

@TheShellBeach I didn't notice she was 5+2. I personally had a early scan at 6+4 and saw heartbeat, and this pregnancy I had one at 8+5🤷🏼‍♀️ I will let the OP decide what she thinks is best for her and her situation x

Quite.
My point is that no quantity of scans or tests will ensure that a woman has a viable pregnancy, so they're a huge waste of money.

@Anotheranxiousone sorry to bump an old thread but this has just happened to me. Was all ok?

JJV571989 · 29/05/2024 21:11

I would also like to know if everything was ok as this has happened to me today. This is my second pregnancy. First one ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. Clearblue never went up from 1-2 weeks in my first. This time it's gone down from 3+ to 2-3 weeks

Hiya, this happened to me a few months ago (comment above yours) and the next day it was back at 3+. I am now 15+5. The thresholds on the tests are stupid and I think they should be banned, they just cause stress. I ended up taking the tests apart to compare the line thickness and they were near enough the same. Apparently there’s a HCG interval I think 3000-7000HCG where some tests can still put that at 2-3 instead of 3+. Crazy how variable they are. I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry xx

Thank you for that it was good to hear. What were your pregnancy symptoms like did they drop off at all?

Hi! Sorry to say I went on to miscarry a week or so later :( I did fall pregnant again immediately though and I’m due next week :)

the tests aren’t a reliable way of tracking progress - although I did go on to miscarry loads of women have regressions in the weeks but go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies!

@Anotheranxiousone I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage.
Congratulations on your rainbow baby and good luck with the birth! 🌈
