Early pregnancy bleeding and diarrhoea

Sorry for the tmi title!

Around 5.5 weeks pregnant, have just finished a 2 day 'light bleed' with a couple of instances of diarrhoea. So confused - is this a miscarriage?! Final half a day was just spotting - hospital said the diarrhoea could be body trying to 'expel it' 😩. So stressed and cannot scan yet - anyone have any similar experiences? Had a miscarriage a few months ago so obviously going out of my mind with worry.

So sorry you're going through this worry. It's very difficult to know as every pregnancy is different. It could just be a tummy bug and some bleeding at the same time. I'd just monitor it and see what happens, you might be able to get a scan after 6 weeks at your EPU. Sending you good wishes 🌺

Sorry you are going through this. It is very difficult to stay positive but bleeding is very common. I am 6 weeks today. Last night I had a fairly big bleed, with clotting. I had a bit of an upset tummy too. Bleeding continued a little through the night. I contacted the clinic (IVF pregnancy) early this morning and I went in for a scan. All ok, saw heartbeat and everything looked good. They couldn't say what caused the bleed. Have they said when they will scan you? They should be able too see a viable pregnancy (even if just a sac) from around now, and definitely in the next couple of days. Wishing you a positive outcome x
