Travel Systems for VW UP?

I’m a first time parent and really struggling to get my head around all the different travel systems on offer. Does anyone have any experience of getting a travel system to fit a VW UP?

I really like the Silver Cross Dune but I can’t get anywhere to test it out.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I don’t have a VW UP! But I do have a Fiat 500 so I understand the small car struggles. We’ve opted for an Oyster 3. Like you we are FTP but this seemed the best option and you can fit the carry cot in the boot if you pop the wheels off the chassis.

Our second choice was the Silver Cross Dune but I actually found this a little too big when testing out in John Lewis.

Thanks! How do you find fitting the carry cot? I think that might be the most challenging part for us.

@4891C it’s fine and there’s still room for a couple of shopping bags in the boot too 😊

Not sure if you have tried this yet but I found My Buggy My Car useful. It’s a website where you can search your car reg and it will tell you what fits. I’ve got a Fiat 500 and went for a Mamas and Papas Flip XT2 which almost fits I just need to unclip one of the back seats.

That’s great, thank you - I haven’t heard of that so will check it out.

I have a VW UP and we had a cybex car seat for my babies when they were little. Cyber gold I think? We got it in a travel system bundle at mamas and papas with the old XT2 (which fits in the boot when collapsed down btw but not too much room for other stuff). I had to have the passenger seat as far forwards as possible though so hard to squeeze another adult in but my car is just a city runaround, we have a bigger family car for outings.

I now have a joie 360 as baby is a bit older and that fits well and I can fit DH in the passenger seat. I think you can use it from birth but it doesn’t clip into a travel system.

by the time they are 3 1/2 you can get the non iso fix ones so you are laughing then - loads of room!

Good luck!!
