Miscarrying a posible ectopic. TW - picture

Hi all
So on Monday I was exactly 6 weeks and had had some light bleeding. At the EPU I was scanned and diagnosed with a 'pregnancy of unknown location' as nothing was seen in the uterus. My HCG was at 340. Yesterday at the hospital they did another scan after my HCG had risen to 426. Their expert doc found something very small in my tube which he believed is likely the ectopic. I also have a small amount of free fluid in the pelvis which could mean an ectopic has bled/ruptured already and passed outside of the tube. I have also been bleeding now for 5 days. They gave me a choice of surgery or expectant management since what they found was so small, I am well and the bleed could mean my body is flushing out. Yesterday I passed what you can see in the picture. I am just wondering what people think. Has anyone ever passed something similar during an ectopic/suspected ectopic? Has anyone had something similar which turned out to be just a MC? Sorry for the graphic serial.

Hi, sorry to hear this, must be difficult time with all the uncertainty. I've had a previous ectopic. My HCG kept increasing and was over 3000, I opted for surgery as didn't like the sound of EM and side effects and constant trips to have bloods taken. I had my left tube removed and pregnancy was definitely found there...I remember having a brown bleed like a light period, but I never passed anything like that. Have you spoken to the EPU or GP? They should really be keeping an eye on you

Thanks for the reply. I'm so sorry for your loss. They are monitoring me - I made the decision not to have surgery yet incase my hcg drops and it can resolve itself. On Sunday I will have more bloods taken. I'm ready to go to the hospital if anything feels off. I can't have mtx injection as I have some free fluid which means it may have already ruptured and passed outside my tubes. It's all so complicated and frustrating! I had a MMC in Feb and we were just getting over that. I honestly think I just can't any more after this. I feel so done X

Hi Gingol and Maria,
So sorry that you've been through the challenges for ectopic and MMC.
I've just been diagnosed with ectopic last week and doing Expectant Management. My HCG has risen more steadily since Friday to Monday from 434 to 594 (it was moving slower than that before. And EC grown from 8mm to 12m. Progesterone gone down from 55 to 23. Monday was my 6 week mark.
I have had intermittent pain in groin and bleeding since Tuesday evening last week - most when wiping or sitting on toilet. Going on pad a little but could easily use just one pad in the day.
The pain on Friday evening scared me it was a rupture so went to non-gynae expertise A&E (closest to me). They thought it might be passing and not rupturing so said I could go home but the bloods I did there showed the HCG increased and obviously now I know the cells were actually growing by 50%.
My EPU thinks EM is best course of action. I have a friend who had EP in USA and said all the drs advice she got there was to have surgery.

Can you update me on what happened to both your circumstances? Ginger - Did your pregnancy resolve with EM or did you need intervention?

Maria2Bela - have you TTC since your EP?

I hope all has gone as well as it could for the both of you xx
