Can a beta hcg blood test be wrong at 16 weeks?

Please be kind, I am really worried.

I’ve only had sex once this year which was around 16 weeks ago end of April in which the condom came off. I took the morning after pill and had a light period. I then went on the pill. I came off the pill early July and have not had a period since.

This week I’ve done a few tests and all negative (but I’ve read this can happen after around 12 weeks). But I feel super bloated and have extreme tenderness and back pain for past week. I am unsure if these are just side effects of a delayed period coming off the pill.

To ease my mind I took a private quant hcg test and my results were <1. Can blood tests be wrong so late in pregnancy?

I’ve never felt like this before, I know myself and something just seems wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

You are not pregnant.
If you were, it would be impossible for the hCG to be below 1. Even though they lower as the pregnancy progresses.
If you are worried, go to the doctor, but this is not a pregnancy.

I agree, an hcg of <1 on bloods is conclusive that you are not pregnant. Speak to your GP if you are concerned.
