No fetal pole at 6 weeks 1 day 😢

Just been for a private scan. I am apparently 6 weeks and 1 day no fetal pole seen. I know there's no definite answer at this stage as to whether a baby will develop id just like to hear similar experiences. The lady wasn't concerned about anything, I was however shocked she did an abdominal scan this early.

I'm shocked they did a scan that early, and even more shocked they didn't do an internal scan. At 6 weeks (do you actually know your ovulation date?) You wouldn't necessarily see a fetal pole under these circumstances. Hold on in there, go for a rescan in two weeks and make sure they are equipped to do an internal scan

Hey Hun, I had a scan at egu on Monday. I was expecting to be 6+2 from lmp or 6+4 going off my app with ovulation etc.
I was warned it would be very possible to not see a heartbeat or much of anything at this stage.

My doctor did also do an abdominal but she confirmed measurements etc with a transvaginal after. I was lucky that I saw a baby and a heartbeat even on the abdominal scan but I only measured 6 weeks, so a few days earlier than I thought. So you could potentially not be 6+1 and even more reason for not being able to see fetal pole yet? I read up so much before going and it seems so 50/50 a lot of women didn't see much at all at 6 weeks and now have a baby to show for it and some were like me and did in fact see all they needed. I'd go back for a rescan in a week or two to reassure yourself x

Mmm I needed an internal 6+6. Could barely see a thing abdominally at that point personally x

I had to have a vaginal scan at my EPU at 7+4 weeks as they said it would be hard to see much without doing it that way so not surprised they couldn’t see much at 6+1. I email and would complain they only offered abdominal. They might offer another scan for free to make up for it. I really think some of these private places take the piss! They know people are desperate to know things are OK so take your money and don’t do a proper job leaving you feeling more anxious than when you went in!

I've attached a picture of the scan they gave me. I've had early reassurance scans private before with other pregnancies, but I used a different clinic this time. Was very shocked this early they did abdominal.

I had an abdominal scan at 5w6d that looked like that. She's a grumpy 15 year old teenager now. Fingers crossed for you.

Yes I think everyone is different. I had an abdominal scan on the 8th when I was 5 weeks + 4 at EPU and I could see a sac, yolk and teeny tiny fetal pole.
