Iv just found out I'm pregnant around 5 weeks, but I only had a planned c section due to breech baby 6 months ago. We always wanted another baby but Baby wasn't planned so soon but I really want this baby, but also worried what the drs / midwife's will say with it only being 6months since c section. As anyone been through this? Did everything continue okay?

I don't have personal experience as I only have one child via c-section last year. I googled it as I found this an interesting question and it says on several sites that you should wait at least 6 months. Personally I would mention it on your booking appointment and again at the hospital appointments so they are very aware if it. I doubt anybody cares that you got pregnant less than one year as surely they see this all the time. Smile

I got pregnant 7 months after c section (for breech) and no one said anything. Best of luck!

I had two c sections in just under 13 months. First was an emergency after failed induction and I opted for elective as I just couldn’t face induction again.

Both sections went fine, recovery after the elective was way better than the emergency. I lost a lot of blood in emergency one. They went in in the same scar so I only really have one scar.

there didn’t seem to be any real issue with the small gap, after the second section they said they’d be happy to see my again in theatre (for a section) but to wait a bit longer next time.

happy to answer anything else if I can. And congratulations!

I was also worried I’d get into trouble for it being way less than 6 months but no one said anything. It’s a done deal by that point I guess.

Thank you all so much for reassuring me ❤️

@Sittingintheshade can I ask, did they give you the choice of whether you wanted vaginal delivery or c section again or did they think csection was safest option? Xx

@meggieD14 i could have gone for vbac or section. It was up to me really! I don’t feel like I was being advised one way over the other. I just chose section as I didn’t want to have another induction.

@Sittingintheshade thank you so much! Iv been to see the doctor this afternoon who wasn't concerned at all that I'm pregnant again so soon and referred me to midwife. Feeling really reassured and hoping for a healthy pregnancy. Thanks again xx

I’m having the same issue but my daughters only 4 months and I’m 5 weeks pregnant😂. My midwife told me it’s common and there’s nothing to worry about. They’ll more than likely push for a normal birth over a c section due to the c section scaring but I could still have a c section if I wanted and I’ll have to be under a consultant all the way through but everything will be fine.
I was panicking because I was reading stuff online about it but after speaking to my midwife I feel much better!

I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant, my little one is nearly ten months old. I thought I’d get a massive telling off from the consultant about them being so close following an emergency section but they were more concerned about the fact I had preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome last time. They said if I didn’t develop preeclampsia I had the choice to try for a vbac but personally the fear of rupture is too much of a risk to try and labour this close to the first time. If I was a few years in the future I likely would try if given the chance but a planned section if I remain well at 37 weeks is what I’ll be doing.
