Inadequate Maternity Services - what does it mean?

I am in my 3rd trimester with DC2 and just looked at my local maternity hospital grading and after a report last year was downgraded to ‘inadequate’
I have already had one childbirth experience there and there was some negatives with the staff who delivered dd, they said some pretty awful things to me after I gave birth, didn’t believe the amount of pain I was in, kept telling me I was fine etc, made me feel guilty for a number of things, berated me for not being able to cope with stitching without anaesthetic and then lack of pain medication given. Although post-birth monitoring was really good as I had some complications afterwards, so quite a mixed experience.
There’s another hospital I could get to which has a better rating but assessment was carried out in 2017, so could have changed a lot since then.
Anyone have knowledge of what these ratings actually mean?

I don't know - where did you find the results?

I just googled them and they are available online - I think it’s through the CQC.

Thank you, I’ve had a read of the report and it doesn’t fill me with confidence. DH thinks that they will have put measures in place to improve things after this report was published, but surely it would take a lot longer than a few months to make a real difference. Does anyone have insight?
