Bleed at 6/7 weeks pregnant.

This pregnancy so far has been so stressful. First of all at my 7 week scan there was no heartbeat and it’s measuring at 5. I am being rescanned on Friday. I have had really bad morning sickness and saw my gp this morning who prescribed anti sickness meds. Then earlier tonight I went to the loo and my underwear was completely soaked with blood - sort of a rust colour. It’s still pink when I wipe but seems to have stopped now. I am waiting until the morning then going to contact EPU. Is this the start of a miscarriage? 💔 it will be my second one in a row as I had one in March this year.

The bleed could be a miscarriage, but equally it could be any number of other things. Plenty of women (including myself) have bleeds in pregnancy. I am now 15w and I've had unexplained bleeding on and off since about 7 weeks including one super heavy red bleed. It's definitely positive that it seems short lived, and you didn't mention you were experiencing pain or cramping. Best thing you can do is get the epu to do a rescan tomorrow.

Both my friend and I had heavy bleeding during the first trimester. My friend had a healthy baby, I unfortunately miscarried.

Please try not to stress, if you can. It can be perfectly normal for bleeding to occur during the early days. When I was pregnant with DS I had previously had 3 miscarriages before he came along. I had very slight bleeding after sex and panicked but all was fine that time around.

I had the heaviest bleed ever at 8 weeks, soaked the bed (sorry tmi) but all was ok, hoping everything will be ok for you too ❤ xx

Thank all for your replies. I still have some brown blood when I wipe. Just called EPU and they said there’s nothing they can do until Friday because I already have an appointment then. I’m a bit annoyed tbh as I was specifically told to ring them if I start to bleed but they were quite dismissive this morning. If I’m going to miscarry I’d rather know now and have medical management. The last time I miscarried naturally it was traumatic and a complete disaster. Sorry I’m just ranting now. It’s going to be a long few days.
