Dealing with heat and exhaustion

I (40) am in Week 12 and I'm currently just constantly physically exhausted (in addition to the nausea and the bloating I get a lot). The heat definitely makes it worse - we had a cold spell until a week ago and I felt temporarily a little better. Is this normal? Everytime I flop down somewhere my bones feel like lead. I have no idea how I'll be able to cope with my intellectually demanding work, my dog, and the housework (my husband is helping but we're renovating so he's got his own share of work too). Does it get better?

Early pregnancy is rubbish. I started feeling a lot better at 14 weeks with my first… hopefully you’ll start feeling less sick soon.

Tiredness is normal in the first trimester, and relentless. But if it doesn’t get better in the next couple of weeks consider if you could be anaemic.. you’ve had to make lots of extra blood already.

Between about weeks 16-26 I felt fantastic and almost back to my old self so hold in there. But then be prepared for it to come back in 3rd trimester when you can’t sleep at all!

Thanks! I get the last 8 weeks off work (actually the last ten because it's Christmas just before) so I'm hoping that despite the obvious difficulty with being heavy etc. it's going to be more chilled from W30.

I guess I wasn't quite prepared for the total exhaustion I am feeling. I'm taking supplements and my iron was done routinely already and it's in an acceptable range, we'll see at the next test at W18.

I’m also heading into week 12 as of today & today has floored me. I think it’s the warmer weather too so I feel you OP! It’s my second pregnancy & I just don’t remember being this tired first time round.Hang in there hopefully settles soon for us

I am bone tired too. I could happily stay in bed for days at a time and am constantly just thinking of when I could next feasibly nap. It’s awful. I’ve also got a job that needs brain power and a hyperactive 3 year old 🫠

13 weeks now - hanging in there for second trimester 🤞🏻

Thanks for the commiseration ... I'm now in W15 and I do feel a lot better, more energy. Still nothing compared to pre-pregnancy but it does make a change.
