Hi, anyone else pregnant at 45+? Just found out I'm pregnant (donor egg IVF) after more than a decade of struggles with secondary infertility (plus many ££ on multiple IVF cycles and other treatments...I daren't add it up!) I will be 46 when the baby is born. I am absolutely thrilled and I would say I'm fairly young for my age and it's just a number!! However none of my friends have little ones anymore, so feel like I will be starting from scratch trying to meet people while I'm on maternity leave. I also feel weirdly embarrassed at the thought of telling some people that I'm pregnant! Anyone else in a similar position?

Hello
I'm not 45, (I am 40) but I have a family member and friend who both had children at 45/46 don't feel embarrassed at all, congratulations! X

Don't feel embarrassed. Congratulations ❤️

Congrats. My SIL just had her first at 45. All was ok!! High risk pregnancy so a lot of scans etc, but no complications. Good luck, enjoy!

My sister had hers at 45 and a good friend at 46, both conceived naturally.
I met my friend via school - sons in same year (I had mine at 41 and 43). So i imagine you'll meet other mums the same way - pre and post natal group, nursery and school.

Congratulations!! I fell pregnant (with DC2) at 44 having tried for several years, delivered healthy baby at age 45 last year. Whilst I'm at the higher end age wise I know a fair few who had babies over 40 - oldest was 43 I think but its not all that unusual. So long as you look after yourself you'll be fine, I don't think I feel any more knackered than I did pre DC to be honest, now that I'm past the sleepless nights stage. How very exciting! Wishing you a smooth & healthy pregnancy and baby x
