My bump sits on my lap

I'm only 33ish weeks and I'm really noticing that when I sit down, my bump wants to be where my lap is. I can either do a wide-legged sit and kind of hang my belly between my legs (mmmm - so attractive!!! Definitely not one to use in company) or I just feel all squished and feel the baby is squished too.

Is this normal?

I don't remember this from last time.

I think my stomach muscles are just completely farked separated and that's why.

God I'm going to look 4 months pregnant after this baby is born and for the rest of my life aren't I?

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

You're just carrying low.

Could be worse - your tits could be on your lap

Sounds like your pelvic girdle muscles are fucked struggling to cope with the weight of the baby. Have you tried sitting on a birth ball to help develop them a bit. You'll get horrible backache if you let your bump hang low over a long term.

Oh to figure out whether your tummy muscles are screwed - lie on you back and gently raise your head - down the middle of your tummy you should feel a vertical line - the gap between your tummy muscles - if the gap is more than two fngers wide you really should go see a physio!

BroccoliSpears · 28/02/2008 22:51

Lol Cali - that pretty much sums it up.

Right. Am replacing computer chair with birthing ball.

Two fingers Octo? I could cheerfully wave through a marching band with batton twirlers and an elephant. Physio not terribly interested.

Muscles definitely fucked struggling to cope.
