Calf still sore after bad cramp

Got woken from my sleep yesterday morning with the sorest cramping I've ever had in the back of my calf. I'm 29 weeks pregnant.

Today my calf is still very sore, it's sore to walk on although I'm still able to walk.

Going downstairs is a challenge and I have to take 1 stair at a time.

Is this normal? Have I just pulled a muscle or something?

Worried about a blood clot but area isn't red or anything and won't be able to get a gp appointment until next week.

Thanks

Hi op. It's quite easy to pull a calf muscle. Last time I did it I went to see a physio. They massaged the offending area (ouch but helped), recommend rest and some stretches - you can Google easy ones. You'll be fine.

I've had cramp this bad before where it's left the area tender for a few days. Have you got any Epsom salts? a bath with those is great for pulled muscles (I'm assuming epsoms salts are safe in pregnancy).

I had this. It hurt so much I'm so sorry.

Never ever point your toes while pregnant. And yes, mine all resolved.

Thank you all that's reassuring

I had this exact same thing last week and was terrified it was a blood clot but it finally went away fully within maybe 4 days. Felt like a pulled muscle but no idea how I’d done it as I just woke up with it. Like you say, stairs were a nightmare but I just kept on my feet and stretching my legs and it went away 😊

I had this in pregnancy. It was so painful, once I was in tears and my husband had to try and help stop the cramp. I was in pain for a few days.

I got it a fair bit and it stopped as soon as I gave birth.

This was very normal occurrence for me at end of second/start of third trimester. It’s SO painful but nothing to worry about I don’t think
