Nausea / fainting spells in 2nd trimester

Hi - I'm wondering if this is normal?

I'm currently 25+6 weeks pregnant and generally feel okay.

However, over the past three weeks I've had four 'moments' - where I've felt super sick for ten minutes, which has become increasingly worse to the stage where I feel like I'd faint if I didn't lie down.

After about 20 minutes the feeling passes and I'm fine - if a bit shaky.

Is this normal?

I would get yourself checked out by the midwife, blood pressure etc. and maybe ask for a check on your iron levels earlier than 28 weeks.

But, having said this, I'm 29 weeks and have had what you describe when sitting in a slightly reclined position (on the sofa, sat upright in bed etc.). Started at about 26 weeks. My blood pressure and 28 week blood test results were fine, so midwife said it was probably the baby putting weight on a blood vessel in that particular position. It was worse at 27 weeks but has actually got better over the last week, so I think it's just one of those things..!

@neverwakeasleepingbaby thank you for replying - I can't sleep because I've been googling preeclampsia 🤦

You've made me feel much better - I never considered that it might be baby putting pressure on a blood vessel. Hopefully that's what it is.

I'll speak to my midwife about it and see what she says...
