Has anybody had a successful medical management of miscarriage AFTER trying expectant management? I've been told the chances of it working are only 5% but really don't want surgery x

I'm sorry about your loss :( I had medical management of an ectopic after expectant management wasn't successful, but I'm not sure it's quite the same thing (it was successful though)

This page from Tommy's suggests medical management following expectant management is common and 85% success successful

I hope you are ok xx

Medical management

If you have a missed or incomplete miscarriage, you may be offered medicine to help the miscarriage move along. This is called medical management.

Sorry for your loss too lovely. I looked at the page and I think it just says it's 85% successful. The doctor today told me it's only 5% successful after expectant management has failed (I've been waiting 3 weeks). I really don't want a MVA but it sounded like he didn't want me to go down the medication route x

Hey ive had medical management twice. First time i had it, it worked and fairly quickly and i was able to mc at home. Second time i had to be in hospital for it and i had pills all day and didn't work. Sorry that doesnt really answer your question but i think its worth a shot before operation at least. If it doesnt work then u know what your options are. So sorry you are going through it. Its awful.
