looking for some reassurance. I had severe HG with my first born and a pph which was a result of a C-section. All of this resulted in me getting a blood clot in my ivc 6 weeks postpartum. I just wanted to know whether anyone has had a similar blood clot and went on to have a successful pregnancy? My vascular consultant has given us the go ahead but I’m not too sure as I’m sure the uterus would put pressure on my already blocked ivc. Any stories would be useful please xx

Your MW and obstetrician will be extra cautious to reduce the risk of reoccurrence. Are they planning to put you on anticoagulants in your next pregnancy? What do you mean 'your already blocked IVC'? Surely the clot dissolved, and your IVC is not still blocked?
Pregnancy and labour are unpredictable, but the fact that your vascular consultant gave you the go ahead, that is extremely reassuring. Wishing you all the best of luck!

@MJGGG thank you for your response 😊I have been on blood thinners since (past 2 years) as unfortunately, the clot did not dissolve and is still causing a large blockage in my ivc. I’be been told by my vascular consultant that my body has created new path ways for the blood to flow.
