Does this mean I'm not pregnant after all?

Early miscarriage?

I'm so confused I took a clear blue test a week or so ago and it was positive

I never bled with my DD, I'm so confused

Sorry OP, at this early point it could either be implantation or a miscarriage. Is it heavy? Red? Clots?

You could take another pregnancy test and see if it’s still a strong line or give your dr a ring and see if you can be referred to EPU. Usually they don’t see people before 6 weeks but I’ve been seen before at 5 weeks and sadly was miscarrying. They won’t see anything at this point on a scan either way but they might take bloods to see HCG levels.

@buckingmad

It's definitely red no clots, I've just put a pad on to see if there is more

I know miscarriages happen all the time, but didn't expect this

It does look a bit watery and no clots so far

There is only a little on the pad but when I wipe there seems like a lot.

It's a miscarriage isn't it?

The worst thing is not knowing for sure either way

Will a pregnancy test be accurate?

I wish I hadn't taken an early test now, I'd never have known if I'd waited but I told my mum 🙁

Sorry to hear this op. I bled with all of my pregnancies not just the miscarriages. There's no way to know for sure at this point. If the bleeding gets heavier and prolonged then sadly that's not a good sign. Spotting could be the start of a miscarriage or it could be implantation. Try to rest and look after yourself today.

I just spoke to my mum and she said she actually bled for a couple of days with me, which I never knew

Feel a bit better just need to accept whatever happens

Thank you for responding

I had a period like bleed at 4 weeks (I hadn't tested so assumed it was my period). It lasted 5 days! But found out I was pregnant a couple weeks later when symptoms started. I'm now in my 2nd trimester. Fingers crossed for you OP, its hard to tell at this stage unfortunately but bleeding doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage.

RedRobyn2021 · 15/08/2023 09:51

@Indreams21 the worst thing is the hope that maybe it's not a miscarriage

I really regret taking an early test because if I hadn't I would never have known

I have cramps and I'm bleeding enough to need to change the pad, still no clots but tbh it feels like this can't be normal

I just want to forget and try again next month, but its the hope it keeps getting at me.

I'm going out with my DD shortly so hopefully that will take my mind off it

Clearblue are really bad for showing lines when negative did you confirm with any other brand? I’m guessing at 4 weeks you are only due your period around now? A week before your period is too early to get a positive test. It sounds like it may not have been positive and this is just a normal period.

Bleeding in early pregnancy has never ended well for me personally but every person and pregnancy is different. Contact the EPU and get booked in for HCG bloody tests!

Good luck and I hope it's good news xx

I had this a few days after finding out I was pregnant and fully assumed it was my period so I must be having a very early miscarriage. It was fully the first day of a period and lasted all day. I changed my pad before bed but when I woke up in the middle of the night the blood had started to dry up and was brown/black with very little fresh blood. By the morning there was hardly anything at all. It turned out fine and I’m about to have baby later this week! I didn’t ever experience implantation bleeding last time and I assumed if you’d already had a positive test there was no way it could be implantation but it appears it was!

RedRobyn2021 · 15/08/2023 15:16

@Dellys

Wow!

You must have not known whether you were coming or going, I'm glad it worked out for you.

It's been like a period all day so far, I've changed my pad 3 times, I think the baby/fetus has gone to be honest.

If something changes though I will happily come back to update

Good luck with the birth I hope everything goes well for you

@RedRobyn2021 aw I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like you may have had a chemical. Retest in a few days and see.

Dellys · 15/08/2023 18:46

@RedRobyn2021 it was at Christmas too so I was having to just act like it was fine and pretend nothing was happening but inside wanted to cry! Hope it works out for you, mine was fully a normal period for 10-12 hours I’d say yet everything about implantation bleeding describes it as a few drops and nothing like that
