Anxious with no symptoms

Hello!

Wanted to see if there were others who can relate to where I'm at. I'm about 5+4 or 5+5 weeks pregnant. Feeling very anxious, mainly as I have no symptoms other than my missed period. I didn't have many in my first pregnancy but not none!

The other thing stressing me out is that I did a Clear Blue digital last night and got 2-3 weeks. Going by my dates, I was hoping for a 3+, but appreciate it wasn't FMU.

Would love to hear from others with a lack of symptoms and hopefully give/get a bit of reassurance! X

I am 18 weeks and to this day have never had a single symptom! It’s so strange, I don’t know if we are the lucky ones but having no symptoms also comes with a lot of anxiety

CR7 · 14/08/2023 21:44

I'm 19 weeks with no symptoms xx

Don't worry about the dates on the CB. The parameters are very broad x

Yessss! Every time I go for a scan I'm sure something is wrong because I've had no symptoms

@PKA98 @CR7 thank you for your replies - I already feel a bit better from reading these :)

I feel like all I see are posts from people who have so many symptoms, or at least a couple of key ones, so it's nice to hear from others in my boat - especially hearing that you're that bit further along.

It's funny as I have a real phobia of being sick so am glad for the lack of that, but this symptom-less anxiety feels almost as awful! Just trying to hold out for the first scan I've booked for 10 days' time...

Hey gal @wannabemum1989 . I just had my 12 week scan on Friday and are 13 weeks today. I’ve had no symptoms from the start. No sickness, no sore boobs, no food aversions no heightened sense of smell no nothing. So I was worried but everything was fine. Please try not to worry and hope that it continues 🥰

noaddedsugarx · 15/08/2023 07:35

Firstly congrats on your pregnancy! I could have wrote this a week ago. Those clear blue tests are notorious for causing anxiety. Some women don't get 3+ and go on to have healthy pregnancies. I did one at 5 weeks and was panicking at 2-3 but I got 3+at 5+4 with fmu. Maybe try in a few days first thing?

Also I had no symptoms which was worrying me and then I went over 6 weeks and I'm feeling nauseous constantly and it's awful so be careful what you wish for aha. it's early days it might come 😂but as many have said some of the lucky ones don't get symptoms!

wannabemum1989 · 15/08/2023 08:59

@BEO that's really reassuring! Did you have any early scans or did you hold out till the 12-week scan? So glad everything was fine!

@noaddedsugarx funny how quickly it can all change. Yeah, I'm thinking of doing hopefully one last Clear Blue in a couple of days' time. Then hopefully if I get my 3+ I will relax a bit! Sorry to hear about the nausea - hope it's fairly short lived. I had about two weeks of feeling sick in my last pregnancy (though thankfully never was actually sick) around weeks 7-8 I think.

If any of you ladies would like to keep chatting, I'll be happy for the company! Such a strange time in early pregnancy before you've told everyone in real life but it's all you can think about 🙈 x

I wouldn't get too comfortable OP, I had no sickness until suddenly it hit me like a train at 6.5 weeks! Grin

And for some women I think it starts later than that. So you may just be lucky, or it may be in the post!

Best of luck with your pregnancy. I'm only 8.5 weeks and worry every day. Think it's just part and parcel of the first trimester.

noaddedsugarx · 15/08/2023 13:13

@wannabemum1989 thank you! Fingers crossed. I feel like I'm forcing down food atm and all I want is beige food which I've heard is fairly common in the first trimester. That's good that you only had a couple of weeks of sickness in your last pregnancy. I know that no two pregnancies are the same but hoping that's the case for you this time - or obviously no nausea would be better!

I'd love to stay and chat. It is a very strange time indeed. The only person who knows is my partner.. oh and my best friend as she told me she was pregnant a few days before I tested. We did IVF and she was just about to start a couple of weeks later when she got a surprise BFP!

Will you have an early scan? I have mine on Thursday when I'll be 7 weeks and I'm really nervous!

BEO · 15/08/2023 17:37

Yea I did have an early scan at 7 weeks because I just didn’t feel ‘pregnant’. It was nice to see but the reassurance didn’t last as I was so anxious leading up to 12 week scan as I know how quickly things can change. But defo book one of your concerned I don’t regret it x

wannabemum1989 · 15/08/2023 18:24

@countrypunk thank you! And sorry to hear about the sickness. Hopefully it won't stick around for too much longer. Honestly can't believe how long the first trimester seems to drag on for...I've only known I'm pregnant for two weeks, it feels easily two months!!

@noaddedsugarx yay, will be nice to follow each other's progress! That's such nice timing for you and your friend - your children will be little besties too :) I've booked an early scan for a week on Thursday, when I should be 7 weeks too. I know I'll be super nervous on the run-up next week! Let me know how you get on!

@BEO glad your scan went well, though shame the reassurance was short-lived... I agree, definitely worth doing if it gives you even a few days' peace from all the thoughts!!

@wannabemum1989 I know we have the exact same due date - such crazy timing. Last time with our DD my sister was due 2 weeks later so that was nice too haha. Ooh hope your scan goes well :) Mine was yesterday and it went really well. Measuring on time and a nice strong heartbeat. Been discharged from the fertility clinic and told to ring my GP so just waiting for a call back from the midwife.

Thinking about booking a private scan at 10 weeks as the 12 week scan seems to long away now! My partner is wanting to tell her Mum but I still think it's a bit early. I think if we had one at 10 weeks I'd feel a lot more comfortable. It's a difficult one though cos her Mum knew from the moment we got a positive test last time when she was carrying so I don't know if she'll take too kindly to us waiting to tell her this time. I am just a super anxious person though and always think the worst so I want to protect myself. I wouldn't want her to know if we went through a loss.

DuploTrain · 18/08/2023 10:05

Don’t worry OP. Some women don’t get any symptoms and feel great the whole way through!

I started getting nausea at 8/9 weeks for both my pregnancies (not much actually being sick though).

wtawtaw · 18/08/2023 10:27

@wannabemum1989 I had very little symptoms until I hit six weeks, then bam nausea pretty much all day! Can't face eating but force myself to eat something 🤢

wannabemum1989 · 18/08/2023 22:06

@noaddedsugarx great that your scan went well! Must feel such a nice relief, for now at least. Know what you mean about 12 weeks feeling like a way off... have you had a letter through with a date for it yet? Could be that it ends up being at more like 10 or 11 weeks (I think it can be any time between 10 and 14 weeks)?

OP posts:
wannabemum1989 · 18/08/2023 22:10

Sorry hit post too soon! Meant to also say - know what you mean about it feeling early to start telling people. I feel like it's my body, so should be my decision when to announce! But get that everyone feels differently about it. I'll probably hold out till 12 weeks for everyone like I did first time around.

@DuploTrain thanks for your message! It's so true and I just need to try to relax and enjoy feeling normal in case it changes soon...

@wtawtaw ooh that sounds rough, sorry to hear that! How far along are you now?

OP posts:
wtawtaw · 18/08/2023 22:53

@wannabemum1989 I'm 8+2 now so only been suffering nausea for 2 weeks but my god it's dragged!!
