We're you induced by having waters broken alone and went on to not need any drip etc?

For medical reasons I am booked in for an induction on Wednesday. They said because I am 2cm and cervix is already soft and favourable that they will skip the pessery and start me by breaking my waters.

I was induced on my first baby and it was traumatic to say the least , but it was the whole hog from pessery stage to drip and I was only 37 and 5 when induced , this time will obviously be second birth and I'll also be 39 and 1.

Just wondering if this sort of induction is less painful than the ones that have drip and pessery etc. and second time around too?

Did anyone have their waters broken and that was enough the rest of the labour was natural ie without drip? I am dreading it.

I have had 2 sweeps since Wednesday and lost loads of plug and had cramping but have went nowhere 😔

I was induced at 37+6. The pessary was removed the morning after it had been put in & no drip was needed following that. I went on to have waters broken & used gas & air.Had a beautiful labour & delivery which I was very grateful for ❤️ so sending good vibes OP!

Yes. I had to have an induction with my second. As it was my second baby, my cervix was slightly open so they said I could just have my waters broken. This was very traumatic and was later told that I would have been best having a balloon. It took my midwife, head midwife and then a doctor to finally break the waters - a very painful and unpleasant experience. Howecer, once broken, I managed to kick start labour with bouncing on the birthing ball so didn't need any further medical intervention.

I had waters broken with 2nd. I was 5 days overdue. Waters broken quick and easy, labour started straight away and I had him 4 hours later.
