I am currently 4wks and 4 days into this pregnancy and feeling super anxious, my last 3 pregnancies ended in losses the first one was at 14 weeks although the baby stopped growing at 10 but due to late scan we didn't find out until then and I had a D&C, the following 2 were natural losses at around weeks 5 and 6, I have since found out I may have an issue with blood clotting following some blood work, so now I am super anxious it will happen again so I'm trying not to get excited just yet, I have some really strong symptoms sore breasts, nausea, fatigue during the day not sleeping at night which makes me feel optimistic but iv still that niggling doubt in my head, anyone else on a similar journey?

Hey! Kind of similar story. Currently 5 weeks with my rainbow baby. I do have a 5 year old from before my loss, so I know my body can do it but worried somethings changed since!

Timing of my loss is very similar to one of yours, lost baby at 14 weeks but the baby had died at 10+6 and didn't know until 13+5 at my scan. Thankfully didn't need a d&c in the end as I miscarried naturally with a little help from one dose of misprosotal. No idea why I lost the baby but did find out after that my prolactin is quite high so worried that it may happen again 😔. Definitely feel your pain not wanting to get excited yet x

Cinderz123 · 12/08/2023 11:46

@Ttcmumma I also have a child an 8 year old boy so like you I have had a previous healthy pregnancy but was such a long time ago, I'm currently awaiting advice from my consultant over this blood clotting issue but he's off until nxt week so I'm super anxious waiting, getting scared at every cramp or twinge my only comfort right now is that I'm suffering alot of nausea and very sore boobs!! How are u feeling symptom wise? Our stories are very similar I hope this one works our well for both of us 🥰

Hi @Cinderz123 similar journey here!

Currently 5weeks + 6 with my April rainbow baby after 3 b2b MC’s within the past 11 months (I have no other children).

Was told to attend EPU on Tuesday (5+2) due to spotting and pain. HCG level/progesterone was good and so had a scan showing sac, yolk and teeny tiny fetal pole! Was also put on progesterone (I begged for it haha) and booked back in on Friday where I should be 6 + 5 and I can’t bloody wait! Just hoping for that heartbeat sooo much!

I know how anxious you must feel, and it can be terribly frustrating just not having the answers. I try to remember that most of this beginning process is out of our hands and to just try to get through each day as it comes.

Sending all my love to you and your rainbow baby!

Cinderz123 · 12/08/2023 14:54

@VicH13 thank you for sharing its so bloody nerve racking!! Can I ask what the progesterone is for? I am hoping that I hear bk from my consultant this week coming and have some bloods n hopefully an early scan just to reassure me if not and I make 6 weeks il pay private lol I am optimistic today tho as I feel like all my signs are good 😀 xx

So nerve wracking!!

It’s basically a hormone which we have naturally, it helps support early pregnancy. There’s no guarantee it helps but I had read a lot of women had used it to support their early pregnancy’s after history of miscarriages/ bleeding etc. My nurse asked my doctor very nicely for it for me as we didn’t detect a heartbeat on the scan and apparently they don’t like to prescribe it really until (I got the impression it was more of a cost thing tbh) but as my levels looked good and I was just early I think she let me have them a few days early. Been told I will be on them until 16 weeks if all goes well on Friday at the next scan. So my fingers are crossed.

I would consider bringing it up to your Consultant when you get to speak to them? Considering your history it might be an option although I’ve no blood clotting issue so I’m unsure whether they would interfere.

How are you feeling today? Still full of symptoms? I only have occasional nausea, occasional cramping and big boobs haha x

Cinderz123 · 12/08/2023 20:18

@VicH13 ah I see, I think I might be puy on blood thinners by my consultant just frustrating that it's the weekend n he's not bk in until Tuesday, I have a GP health check up on Tuesday anyway as iv had to change surgeries so hoping I will get some reassurance there also lol, today I am incredibly hungry!! Iv notice huge blue veins in my very boobs which were definitely not there ir as prominent last few days, nausea in waves still so I'm just holding out with bated breath until Tuesday, I am testing every day like a mad woman on cheap tests just to monitor the line progression lol I will keep my fingers crossed for u Friday for ur scan I think the waiting is the worse lol xx

@Cinderz123 sorry Hun I spent the day at chessington yesterday and it absolutely wiped me out😅

God I know the feeling! I found out before I fell pregnant that I have high prolactin and I have no idea if that's what potentially caused my loss in January or not... So I was pestering my doctor a lot 😅 they dont seem overly worried and from what I can see online most people stop treatment for prolactin during pregnancy anyway so I guess there's nothing they can do. I managed to get an early scan for the 21st at 6 weeks 2 days and praying epu can advise me in anything I could possibly need to support this pregnancy.

I haven't even told my partner yet because I just don't trust me body! So don't worry you really aren't the only anxious one lol.

In terms of symptoms, they vary per day how strong they are but for the most part, sore breast, nausea in the mornings mostly and lost my appetite. I had hot sweats the first couple nights I found out but that stopped so can't be sure if it was a coincidence. I've also had period like cramps on and off most days and I feel the need to sit/lay down a lot more often after completing tasks around the house, work etc

Cinderz123 · 13/08/2023 10:16

@Ttcmumma I'm not usually an anxious person but this time around its sky high I just wanna get to Tuesday so I can spk with my Dr n consultant but this weekend is dragging!! Im reassured that I'm still nauseated and breast hurt n I am peeing more, iv started with headache today n iv come out in a rash but that could be stress lol, I wasn't going to tell my partner either spare him the emotional roller coaster this time but I cnt do it on my own this time. I dunno whether to book my own private early scan for week after nxt or hold out to be offered one by my consultant 🤔

Ttcmumma · 13/08/2023 10:30

@Cinderz123 yeah I wasn't anxious until my MMC in Jan then developed anxiety about everything 🤦🏼‍♀️ horrible what life does to you sometimes.

I've heard that tests will fade before a miscarriage? If you've got any lying around you could use them to reassure you until Tuesday. I've been using LH strips as they are actually how I realised I was pregnant to begin with lol. I'm still getting dye stealers so hanging onto that at the moment. I wouldn't suggest doing it forever as it'll send you crazy but seeing as you'll be seen in a couple days you could do it until then.

My partner panics more than me to be honest 😅 I'm the calm of us so I'm just using you all on the internet to get through this at the moment.

Would your consultant be referring you to epu for the scan? Mine came through super fast to be honest, they even offered to see me last Friday but besides checking if it's ectopic I knew they wouldn't be able to see anything so asked to wait until 6 weeks (am I insane!). I guess if consultant doesn't act fast you could book a private one? Only so much they'll see so early on tho. I hear a lot of people not get the results they wanted as they're too early, panic and then a few weeks later all is fine anyway x

Cinderz123 · 13/08/2023 11:51

@Ttcmumma I was so confident with my pregnancy bk in May last year after having a successful one 7 yrs prior had all the symptoms and had a silent miscarriage so my body was still producing the pregnancy hormones so we had no clue until the scan at 14 weeks (they were late getting me booked in) then the following 2 ladt being in December both ended at 6 weeks, iv bought a digital test today just for peace of mind, I would hope given my history he will refer me to epu and request bloods to monitor, fingers crossed it will stuck n all be OK as I would love to be able to enjoy this pregnancy experience now im older (I didnt enjoy my first one as I had no clue what to expect lol) when do u think u might tell ur partner? Xx

MrsC2018 · 13/08/2023 12:36

Hey, I'm only 9dpo but got a positive digital this morning! I'm terrified, have lost 2 last year at 16 weeks and then had a C-section scar ectopic in Feb. Praying this rainbow sticks like you guys.
I was told to call the EPU as soon as I get a positive test so they can check for ectopic, but think I'll have to leave the call for another week - I don't miss my period until Friday 🙈

Hi @MrsC2018 congradulations 🥰 i don't see any harm in calling them before so they can advise u when is best to go in to get checked, I feel like changing the thread name to bundle of nerves because that's exactly what I am 😆 iv just done my first digital came out 2-3 so that reassured me that potentially my hormones are increasing as they should but im feeling alsorts of pain this afternoon low down in my pelvis snd weirdly in my bum 🫣 absolutely over analysing everything!!

OP posts:
MrsC2018 · 13/08/2023 16:22

@Cinderz123 thanks, but of a shock but I'm grateful to be pregnant again.
Ahh love a 2-3 weeks, I'm going to be very disciplined and just do the minimum to get to 3+ and stop testing. I know I'll have extra monitoring at the hospital but the thinking drives me mad. Pregnancy is stressful alone without it being after loss 🤪

I've got older kids like you guys from before the losses, a 15 year old and a 2 year old so I know I can carry successfully to term, it's just whether or not this one will. I'll be on progesterone and clexane from 8 weeks if I can get us there!

Cinderz123 · 13/08/2023 17:09

@MrsC2018 when did u start on clexane this is what I assume I will be puy on but I dunno how soon I should start it if I do it's a pain waiting to hear bk when they have a long weekend off lol xx

OP posts:
MrsC2018 · 13/08/2023 17:21

@Cinderz123 I'll start on clexane and progesterone when I get to 8 weeks. My last 2 pregnancies I didn't have clexane, but was started on aspirin at 8 weeks. Didn't make a difference but to be honest, I'm just willing to try anything. Think different people have different protocols depending on what their known issues are, my losses were MMC after the 12 week scan and found at 16 weeks so everything for me is about supporting the placenta rather than preventing bleeding. That being said, I've bled on 3 of the 6 pregnancies and only 1 of them was fine so I'm terrified when I see blood too!

Cinderz123 · 13/08/2023 17:32

@MrsC2018 aww I bet its so stressful, iv been told that I have a blood clotting issue so when I previously spoke with my consultant prior to falling pregnant this time he mentioned the blood thinners to me then so I'm just worried I could start on them too late by time I see him, it's all such a mind field of worry, I'm feeling a little bit calmer this evening though after a little nap 😆 xx

MrsC2018 · 17/08/2023 09:07

@Cinderz123 how are you doing? Did you get to speak to your consultant?

Cinderz123 · 17/08/2023 15:50

@MrsC2018 thanks for checking in 😊 im ok I have spoke with him I have a scan on 25th so be 6+2 then looking to start me on asprin and clexane if all looks OK with pregnancy, my hcg levels were done on Tuesday so at exactly 5 weeks and are 942 but told me not to worry as that is baseline and they double every 24 hrs haven't requested any further now but im under EPU for management plan so at least im on the radar now 😉 how are u doing xx

VicH13 · 17/08/2023 16:00

All sounds good @Cinderz123 lovely to hear you’re doing well.

My scan is tomorrow finally! Still hoping my little rainbow babe is there, I should be 6 weeks +5 then but I’ve even never gotten this far before so I don’t think I’ll really believe it until I see it again haha (I have to laugh or I’ll cry - that trauma!!).

Keep well love, I’m glad you’ve got your scan and not long too, so exciting! X

Cinderz123 · 17/08/2023 16:07

@VicH13 🤞 for u tomorrow hopefully this is now ur time 🥰 how u feeling in urself apart from the obvious anxiety? Xx

OP posts:
VicH13 · 17/08/2023 18:01

🤞🏽 I’m hoping so!

I have only had a little nausea and some low cramps which come and go. No bleeding for the first time ever! My boobs are tender and pretty huge too😂and I feel wiped. All sound normal I know but as it’s been nothing too significant I just don’t feel confident. I’d love to be able to enjoy it but I’ve just absolutely no idea how!

How are your symptoms at this stage? I hope you’re feeling good! X

Cinderz123 · 17/08/2023 18:23

@VicH13 hopefully it's all a good sign 🙏 I'm having the odd wave of nausea, insomnia, stapping pains in my boobs, iv had mouth ulcers which were so painful but today I feel like my legs are tight as if I'm retaining fluid I'm so bloated, hungry but not hungry n a fair bit of cramping today but iv been weking 12hr shifts on my feet so might be why just wanna get to nxt Friday! Will u update us tomorrow if all is well xx

OP posts:
VicH13 · 17/08/2023 19:45

@Cinderz123 Ooh I’ve had a couple of mouth ulcers too which is unusual for me! I didn’t even relate it haha. 12 hour shifts will definitely do that, I admire you I’ve been so wiped out! Make sure you get your feet up when/if you can.

Of course I’ll let you know how we get on 🤞🏽 xx

Cinderz123 · 17/08/2023 20:29

@VicH13 yea apparently its a thing never suffered b4 n got my first one just before I missed my period and they just kept coming, seem to be getting better now tho which is a relief 😅 I'm off tomorrow so I plan on having a lazy day with my boy as its raining n partners wrking, what times ur scan? Il keep everything crossed for good news for you 🙏 😊 xx
