How many weeks pregnant am I?

Hi,
I'm getting confused with dates due to irregular cycles and was wondering if anyone could help.
If I had a positive ovulation strip test on July 13th (day 23) and a faint positive pregnancy test on July 27th (day 37), how pregnant would that likely make me?

Thank you

I would count from 2 weeks before your positive ovulation test

Agree with above, which makes you 6 weeks today. The NHS will probably date you from your last period though, so they would say you are 7 weeks 2 days until you've had your dating scan around 12 weeks.

Thank you. Had an early scan due to pains and they couldn't see anything. Was trying to hold out that I could somehow actually be 5ish weeks, but not looking good.

Ah I'm so sorry to hear that! Such a worrying time for you. When did you have your scan? I don't want to give you false hope but it is possible that it was just too early for them to see anything!

It was on Wednesday. I'm clinging to hope that I somehow implanted late, but very worried.

I think it’s too early to say. Ovulation happens 12-36 hours AFTER the positive ovulation test so 5 weeks on Wednesday is totally possible especially as it’s so so small than even a fraction of a mm on the measuring will make a difference. I would worry yet if you have no signs of a loss.

allgoodthings84 · 11/08/2023 13:22

Oh and after ovulation it can be up to 24 hours for fertilisation/conception to happen so honestly it’s too early to be thinking the worst.

Thank you. I really really hope so.
The sonographer didn't seem too concerned, but the midwife was then quite stern about things. I had bloods on Wednesday and have more taken tomorrow (should have been today but I'm away) to give a better indication of whether it's just dates or something more sinister.

@Clarity16 ! It well could be the case by the sounds of it.

amy1313 · 11/08/2023 19:37

Sorry that meant to say fingers crossed for you @Clarity16 . Not sure what happened with the first part of that message!
